ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

(Neville Street, Leeds) (Temporary Traffic Management Measures) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has today made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, due to road reconfiguration and resurfacing works. The effect of the Order will be that: No person shall cause any vehicle, between 20:30 hours and 05:00 hours (Sundays to Fridays) to: 1. Proceed along the whole of Bishopgate St; Neville Street and Mill Hill; Swinegate (between the rail bridge and Bishopgate) or Concordia Street (one way, northbound, from a point 25m from the junction with Swinegate 2. Turn left from Sovereign Street onto Swinegate (except for access). 3. In addition the Bus Gate/Lane along the whole of Boar Lane; the one way traffic restriction on Swinegate (between Bridge End and rail bridge and the banned right turn prohibition from Duncan Street onto Call Lane will all be suspended at any time when the road closures at point 1 above are in force: Local diversion routes will be signed as required. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The works are scheduled to take place between Wednesday 27 May and Friday 19 June 2026. (Northwood Park, Rothwell, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because new connection works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Northwood Park, Rothwell, Leeds in the Rothwell Ward between its junction with Northwood Falls. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Wednesday 20th May 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier.

(Moorland Road, Drighlington, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because gas replacement works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Moorland Road, Drighlington, Leeds in the Morley North Ward between its junctions with Whitehall Road and Station Road. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Station Road, Whitehall Road and vice versa. Essential access to premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Saturday 23rd May 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because electrical connection works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Woodhall Croft, Leeds, outside numbers 24 to 30. No diversionary route is necessary. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Tuesday 2nd June 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Woodhouse Lane, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because construction works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Woodhouse Lane, Leeds in the Little London & Woodhouse Ward; in a southbound direction between its junctions with Blenheim Walk and Blackman Lane. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Blenheim Walk and Blackman Lane. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Thursday 21 May 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Smalewell Road Leading to Tyersal Lane, Pudsey, Leeds)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because NGN Gas replacement scheme works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Smalewell Road, Pudsey, Leeds in the Pudsey Ward at its junction with Tyersal Lane. No diversion route necessary, access to Tyersal Lane for residents only. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Thursday 28th May 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because gas replacement works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel south west on The Fairway, Alwoodley, Leeds in the Alwoodley Ward between its junctions with Alwoodley Lane to house number 57 The Fairway. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Alwoodley Lane, Mount Drive. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Friday 29th May 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Back Cross Green Lane, Leeds 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s) for the installation of a water main, Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Back Cross Green Lane, Leeds in the Burmantofts & Richmond Hill Ward between its junctions with Cross Green Crescent and Cross Green Road. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Cross Green Crescent, Cross Green Lane, Cross Green Road and vice versa. (Various Events – Temple Newsam Leeds)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Coach & Taxi Restriction) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, (holding of events at Temple Newsam Park), Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is to introduce the following traffic restrictions during the event dates and times listed in Schedule below. A. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to use The Elm Walk. B. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle (other than a vehicle requiring access to property on or adjacent to the road) to use: 1. The full lengths of Gibson Drive; Pickard Court; Barton Court; Lennox Gardens; Stewart Close; Manor Garth; Pendil Close; Maltby Court; Manor Croft; Newsam Green Road. 2. Colton Road; between its junctions with The Elm Walk to and Gibson Drive. 3. Pontefract Lane; from its junction with Junction 45 of the M1, in a generally easterly direction to its termination 4. Temple Newsam Road; from its junction with New Temple gate in a southerly direction to its termination. C. No person shall cause any vehicle to Wait upon: 1. No Waiting on Temple Newsam Road, from the Junction of Selby Road for its entire length. 2. Irwin Approach entire length 3. No Waiting on Colton Road, for a distance of 350m from its junction with Selby Road, Provided That such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the relevant event. Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained to all premises situated or adjacent to any road or part of road to which restrictions apply including other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only such road.  

Schedule – Event Dates & Closure Times:

•   Slam Dunk North – Between 06:00 hours on Sunday 24 May & 01:00 hours on Monday 25 May 2026

•   Run for Life & Pretty Muddy – Between 07.00 hours and 16:00 hours on Saturday 11 July 2026 & between 07:00 hours and 14:30 hours on Sunday 12 July 2026.

In addition on Sunday 24 May 2026; it will also be necessary to:

a. Temporarily Prohibit all vehicles except buses, to stop for more than 20 mins on that part of Sovereign Street, that runs for a distance of 30m in a SW direction from the rear of the existing coach bay restriction.

b. Change the existing loading bay on Sovereign Street to a shared loading & taxi restriction

c.  Prohibit the use of the northern carriageway edge of that part Sovereign Street that runs for a distance of 16m, from a point 17m from its junction with Swinegate: I) except between 5.00am and 10:30am II) except for Hackney Carriages at all other times.

(Definitive Footpath 124) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to refurbishment and re-installing of the structure HUL 4/20 Crawshaw Bridge; Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order

In the interests of public safety, the effect of which will be that: No person shall proceed along Definitive Footpath 124; from junctions with Barrowby Lane and Barnbow Lane, in the Crossgate’s and Whinmoor Ward and Temple Newsam Ward. A temporary diversion for the closure will be Definitive Bridleway Leeds 125, Definitive Bridleway Austhorpe 1, William Parkin Way, Manston Lane and vice-versa. The Order is intended to come into operation on 6 June 2026 and to remain in force 24 hours per day, for a maximum period of 6 months. Ref TC10143

(Definitive Footpath Morley No. 51) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025 – Extension Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That because works are continuing to construct a new site entrance for a housing development on or near the under mentioned footpath; the above-named Order that was made by Leeds City Council on 20 November 2025 and which was due to expire on 25 May 2026, is to remain in force (with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport) until 26 November 2026; or until the completion of the works if earlier. The effect of the Order, as extended, is that: No person shall proceed along Definitive Footpath Morley 51, from its junction with Loverose Way to the junction with Definitive Footpath Morley 43; in the Morley North Ward. A Diversionary route for pedestrians affected by the closure will be available via: Loverose Way, Gilhusum Road & Gelderd Road. (This route crosses private land and prior permission has been obtained from the landowner). Ref TC10128

(City Wide) Order 2025 – Amendment Order No.8 2025 –  Alwoodley Ward

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, has today made the above Order.
