Order 2026

The Council on 15/5/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road in two phases.

Phase 1: A 37 metre length of Hadrian Court from the junction with Johnsons Street at the western side of the closure, in an easterly direction to the front of No. 7 Hadrian Court.

Phase 2: A 45 metre length of Johnsons Street, Wingate from the junction with B1280 Front Street, at the northern side of the closure, in a southerly direction to the junction with Hadrian Court to enable electric cable works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic for Hadrian Court on Johnsons Street and for Johnsons Street a diversion will be available on Chapel Street and Market Crescent.

The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on Wednesday 27/5/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
