THE M62 MOTORWAY (WESTBOUND TO M6 NORTHBOUND, EASTBOUND TO M6 NORTHBOUND AND EASTBOUND TO M6 SOUTHBOUND LINK ROADS AT JUNCTION 10)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M62 Motorway, in the Borough of Warrington, in the County of Cheshire, to enable resurfacing, replacement of road markings and stud works, and other general maintenance; to be carried out in safety.

The Order will on the following sections of the M62 Motorway:

i. impose a 50 mph speed limit on the M62 westbound to M6 northbound link road at J10, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 westbound carriageway, to the first point at which it joins the M6 northbound carriageway;

ii. impose a 50 mph speed limit on the M62 eastbound to M6 northbound link road at J10;

iii. impose a 50 mph speed limit on the M62 eastbound to M6 southbound link road at J10, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 eastbound carriageway, to the last point at which it diverges from the M62 eastbound to M6 northbound link road;

iv. ban all traffic from the M62 westbound to M6 northbound link road at J10, from the last point at which it leaves the M62 westbound to M6 southbound link road, to the first point at which it joins the M6 northbound carriageway;

v. ban all traffic from the M62 eastbound to M6 northbound link road at J10.

Restrictions i. - iii. are expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 20:00 on Tuesday 26 May 2026 and ending at 06:00 on Saturday 18 July 2026.

Prohibitions iv. - v. are expected to take place during an overnight period between 21:00 and 06:00 starting on Tuesday 26 May 2026 and ending on Saturday 18 July 2026.

However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights, or during subsequent continuous periods, until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M62 Motorway, and local roads will be well signed.

The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works or traffic officer vehicles.

The restrictions and prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.

The Order comes into force on the 25 May 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
