TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Orders in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
THE CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL
(CHURCH ROAD, SAUGHALL) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Church Road – southeast side – from a point 15 metres south west of the projected centre line of Aldersey Close for a distance of 178 metres in a north easterly direction to tie in with the existing double yellow lines.
• Church Road – northwest side – from a point 12m southwest from the rear of Aldersey Close southerly footway for a distance of 30 metres in a northeasterly direction.
• Church Road – northwest side – from the projected boundary lines of Argoed and Aldersey House in a north easterly direction for a distance of 44 metres.
Full details are in the draft Orders which, together with plans showing the extents of the proposal, may be viewed in the Public Notices section of the Council’s website, or at the Council Offices, HQ, Nicholas Street, Chester and at the Portal, Wellington Road, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BA between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
All objections and other representations relating to the Order must be made in writing to the undersigned by 11th June 2026 and objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. Any representations made should specify the title of the Order and may become available for public inspection.
PROVISION OF CONTROLLED CROSSING –
St Oswalds Way (Fountains Roundabout), Chester
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and following consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, Cheshire West & Chester Borough Council is proposing to install:
• Controlled crossings on the east and westbound carriageways on St Oswalds Way approximately 87m to the west of the centre line of Victoria Road. The crossings will operate separately and will allow pedestrians to safely cross all four lanes of the dual carriageway.
Full details of the proposed restrictions are in the draft Orders which, together with plans showing the extents of the proposals, may be examined on the Council Highways website and The Portal, Wellington Road, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BA.
If you wish to comment on the proposals, you may do so in writing to the undersigned by 12 June 2026. Any representations made should specify the title of the Order and please note representations may become available for inspection.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TR08717 – Clifton Drive in Chester
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Chester to enable utility works to be carried out by SP Manweb.
Clifton Drive
Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 01/06/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 5 weeks to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: Blacon Road, Saughall Road, Stadium Way.
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TR08718 – Castle Street in Chester
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Chester to enable Developer works to be carried out by Developers.
Castle Street

Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: Grosvenor Roundabout, Pepper Street, Lower Bridge Street (vice versa).
