THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (WELLINGTON ROAD, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-
Wellington Road, Bury – from Grosvenor Street to a point 155m in an easterly direction
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works
The alternate route will be via Manchester Road, Parkhills Road & vice versa
The proposed Order will come into operation on 08/06/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 3 weeks (19:00 – 05:00hrs).

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (MERE CLOUGH, PRESTWICH (PUBLIC FOOTPATH 24PRE)) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along:-
Mere Clough, Prestwich (public footpath 24PRE) – between Glenmere Close & public footpath 25PRE
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate timber boardwalk replacement works
The alternate route will be via Glenmere Close, Bury New Road, Kingswood Road, West Road, Public Footpath Number 42, Clifton Road, Public Footpath Number 25 (Farm Hill) and vice versa
The proposed Order will come into operation on 08/06/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 2 weeks
