ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 VERNON STREET FOOTWAY, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A137 Vernon Street Footway, Ipswich from the footway between Great Whip Street and Vernon Street for 50 metres northbound to facilitate a gas replacement scheme. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Great Whip Street, Little Whip Street, Vernon Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 12/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE U1016 MUSEUM STREET AND U1018 ELM STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:
• U1016 Museum Street, Ipswich from Arcade Street to Princes Street
• U1018 Elm Street, Ipswich from no. 34 Museum Street to no. 8 to no. 14 Elm Street.

This is to facilitate a manhole cover repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  1. Crown Street, St Matthews Street with no vice versa
  2. Civic Drive, Franciscan Way, Princes Street with no vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the one-way provision on the U1016 Museum Street with a Contra-Flow Cycle Lane to allow access and egress.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 02/06/2026 from 7pm - 11pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C531 DUBLIN ROAD, RISHANGLES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C531 Dublin Road, Rishangles from Edge House for 150 metres north westbound to facilitate telecommunications pole testing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Dublin Road, Bedingfield Road, The Street Bedingfield, Road from C533 to C531, Church Corner, Park Road, Woodlane Road, Church Road, Mill Road Redlingfield, Cranley Road, the B1077, Church Street, The Street Occold, Mill Road Occold, Dublin Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 02/06/2026 from 9.30am - 2.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4619 WINDGAP LANE, HAUGHLEY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4619 Windgap Lane, Haughley from the junction with Hailes Meadow to the junction with Ladyfield to facilitate stop tap replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Windgap Lane, Station Road, Fishponds Way and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 02/06/2026 from 8am - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C568 YAXLEY ROAD AND THE COMMON, MELLIS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:
• C568 Yaxley Road, Mellis from the level crossing for 20 metres eastbound
• C568 The Common, Mellis from the level crossing for 20 metres westbound.

This is to facilitate unloading rails and repairing defects on the railway track. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Mellis Road Yaxley, The Street, Eye Road, the A140, the A143, Mellis Road Wortham, Mellis Road Burgate, Ash Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 03/06/2026 from 11pm - 6am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C323 GRUNDISBURGH ROAD, TUDDENHAM ST MARTIN

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C323 Grundisburgh Road, Tuddenham St Martin from Hills Cottage for 405 metres westbound to facilitate telecommunications pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ipswich Road Culpho, Grundisburgh Road Culpho, Ipswich Road Grundisburgh, Rose Hill, The Street, Stoney Road, Clopton Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/06/2026 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5801 Foxes Lane, Mendham from 270 metres south of Withersdale Road for 200 metres westbound to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Sandpit Hill, the B1123, Withersdale Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 22/05/2026 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1631 WYMERING ROAD, SOUTHWOLD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1631 Wymering Road, Southwold from Manor Park Road for 30 metres westbound to facilitate gas connection works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Wymering Road, Blackmill Road, Manor Park Road, Wymering Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 09/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

• U3326 Newton Hall Lane, Swilland from Newton Hall Lane, Grundisburgh to Lane Farm.

This is to facilitate the installation of fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Kirby Lane, High Road, Ashbocking Road, Road from Gibraltar Road to Swilland Road, Charity Lane Otley, Charity Lane Grundisburgh, Otley Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 19/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8611 High Road, Leavenheath from 950 metres southeast of the junction with Marshalls Green for 30 metres south eastbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Marshalls Green, Assington, Colchester Road, Assington, Nayland Road, Leavenheath and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 03/06/2026.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2051 REYNOLDS ROAD, U2052 SHANNON ROAD, U2064 TURNER ROAD, U2049 ROMNEY ROAD AND U2062 COLMAN ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. U2051 Reynolds Road, Ipswich from Landseer Road to Shannon Road
  2. U2052 Shannon Road, Ipswich from Reynolds Road to Turner Road
  3. U2064 Turner Road, Ipswich from Morland Road to Frampton Road
    U2049 Romney Road, Ipswich from Morland Road to Chesapeake Road
  4. U2062 Colman Road, Ipswich from Clapgate Lane to Reynolds Road.

This is to facilitate remedial works to carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  1. Landseer Road, Clapgate Lane, Turner Road and vice versa
  2. Chesapeake Road, Reynolds Road, Reynolds Avenue, Turner Road and vice versa
  3. Reynolds Road, Landseer Road, Clapgate Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 06/06/2026 from 7pm - 5am. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

• C222 Dunwich Lane, Westleton for 87 metres north of Forest Lane for 184 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate pole and overhead cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1125, Westleton Road, Dunwich Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 07/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion route will be Lancaster Way unassociated footway, Thornhill Road, Edinburgh Gardens, Lancaster Way and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 12/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion routes will be:

  1. the B1438 Main Road, Hacheston, the B1078, the A12 Southbound, the B1438 Yarmouth Road, Ufford, the B1438 High Street, Ufford, the B1438 Main Road, Pettistree with no vice versa
  2. the B1438 Main Road, Pettistree, the A12 Northbound, the B1078, the B1438 Main Road Hacheston with no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 02/06/2026 - 05/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 02/06/2026 from 8am - 4.30pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

It is intended that the closure will operate from 02/06/2026 - 15/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion route will be Water Lane, Mill Street, Rectory Hill, the B1068, Hadleigh Road, Higham Hill, Lower Raydon, the road from the C727 to the C473, Stoke Road, Rockalls Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 03/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

• U1333 Sparrowshawk Road, Holton
• U1333 Road between 1318 and B1124, Holton.

This is to facilitate carriageway patching works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be the A144, the B1062, the A145, the B1124 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/06/2026 - 06/06/2026 from 8pm - 5am with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

    • U3624 Sandy Lane, Woodbridge from the junction with Broomheath to the junction with Ipswich Road
  2. U3624 Dukes Park, Woodbridge
  3. U3625 California, Woodbridge
  4. U3624 Briarwood Road, Woodbridge
  5. U3624 Pinewood, Woodbridge
  6. U3624 Broomheath, Woodbridge.

This is to facilitate gas mains replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Top Street, Ipswich Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

  1. 01/06/2026 - 25/07/2026
  2. 01/06/2026 - 22/06/2026
  3. 08/06/2026 - 04/07/2026
  4. 22/06/2026 - 11/07/2026
  5. 22/06/2026 - 11/07/2026
  6. 29/06/2026 - 22/07/2026
