(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MENTLEY LANE EAST, STANDON) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mentley Lane East, Standon from a point in line with the western boundary of No.4 Mentley Lane East north eastwards for a distance of approximately 74m (“the Road”).

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 10 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whempstead Road, Benington from a point 318m south east of its junction with High Elms Lane north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 115m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Whempstead Road, Town Lane, Church Green, Walkern Road, High Street, Ware Road, A602 Ware Road and Whempstead Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coltsfoot Lane, Datchworth from its junction with White Horse Lane north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Bramfield Road, a distance of approximately 1133m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via White Horse Lane, Burnham Green Road and Bramfield Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-

1. that length of A119 Amwell End, Ware from its junction with A119 Hertford Road north eastwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 41m.

An alternative route will be via A119 London Road, A1170 Viaduct Road, Station Road and A119 Amwell End.

2. that length of B156 Goffs Lane, Cheshunt from a point 100m north east of its junction with the Rosedale Way/B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via B156 Goffs Lane, B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way, A10 Great Cambridge Road, College Road, Churchgate and B156 Goffs Lane.

3. the westbound carriageway of B176 High Road, Turnford from its junction with the Springs roundabout north westwards to its junction with the A1170 Great Cambridge Road/A1170 High Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 42m.

An alternative route will be via B176 High Road, B156 Halfhide Lane and A1170 Great Cambridge Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 8 June 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

An alternative route will be via B181 Station Road, A414 Eastwick Road and B181 (Roydon Road/High Street/Station Road).

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN EASTWICK, STANSTEAD ABBOTTS, HARLOW AND GILSTON) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads:-

a) that length of Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with the A414 Fifth Avenue roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Terlings Avenue, a distance of approximately 697m.

An alternative route will be via A414 (Fifth Avenue/Edinburgh Way), A1184 (Cambridge Road/Harlow Road), High Wych Road, Pye Corner and Eastwick Road.

b) that length of A414 Eastwick Road, Stanstead Abbotts/Eastwick from its junction with the A10 Amwell Link roundabout south eastwards, north eastwards, eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the A414 Fifth Avenue roundabout, a distance of approximately 7591m.

An alternative route will be via A10 (Amwell Link Road/unnamed road/Wadesmill Bypass), A120 (Standon Hill/Kents Lane/Stortford Road/Standon Road/Little Hadham Bypass/ Hadham Road), A1184 (Bishops Park Way/St James Way/London Road/Cambridge Road/ London Road/Bonks Hill/Harlow Road/Cambridge Road) and A414 (Edinburgh Way/Fifth Avenue).

c) that length of A414 Fifth Avenue, Harlow from its junction with the A414 Eastwick Road roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 109m.

An alternative route will be via A414 Eastwick Road, A10 (Amwell Link Road/unnamed road/ Wadesmill Bypass), A120 (Standon Hill/Kents Lane/Stortford Road/Standon Road/Little Hadham Bypass/Hadham Road), A1184 (Bishops Park Way/St James Way/London Road/ Cambridge Road/London Road/Bonks Hill/Harlow Road/Cambridge Road) and A414 (Edinburgh Way/Fifth Avenue).

d) that length of Eastwick Hall Lane, Eastwick from its junction with A414 Eastwick Road north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 33m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

e) the A414 eastbound slip road leading onto A414 Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with B181 Roydon Road north eastwards to its junction with A414 Eastwick Road, a distance of approximately 742m.

An alternative route will be via B181 (Roydon Road/High Street/Station Road), A10 (Amwell Link Road/unnamed road/Wadesmill Bypass), A120 (Standon Hill/Kents Lane/Stortford Road/Standon Road/Little Hadham Bypass/Hadham Road), A1184 (Bishops Park Way/St James Way/London Road/Cambridge Road/London Road/Bonks Hill/Harlow Road/ Cambridge Road) and A414 (Edinburgh Way/Fifth Avenue/Eastwick Road).

f) that length of Burnt Mill Lane, Harlow from its junction with Eastwick Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 110m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

g) that length of Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with Eastwick Hall Lane south eastwards to its junction with A414 Eastwick Road, a distance of approximately 372m.

An alternative route will be via Eastwick Hall Lane and A414 Eastwick Road.

2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from the central reservation gap opposite ‘Eastwick Lodge Farm’ into the eastbound carriageway of A414 Eastwick Road, Eastwick, when signs are in place.

3. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from the central reservation gap opposite Eastwick Road into the eastbound carriageway of Eastwick Road, Eastwick, when signs are in place.

An alternative route will be via A414 Eastwick Road, the A1170 Pepper Hill/A10 Amwell Link Road roundabout and A414 Eastwick Road.

4. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a right turn manoeuvre from A414 Fifth Avenue into Eastwick Road, Harlow, when signs are in place.

An alternative route will be via A414 Eastwick Road, the A1170 Pepper Hill/A10 Amwell Link Road roundabout and A414 Eastwick Road.

5. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 50mph on that length of A414 Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with Church Lane eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Eastwick Hall Lane, a distance of approximately 1420m, when signs are in place.

6. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 40mph on that length of Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with Burnt Mill Lane north eastwards to its junction with Terlings Avenue, a distance of approximately 261m, when signs are in place.

7. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on the following lengths of Roads, when signs are in place:-

a) that length of A414 Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with Eastwick Hall Lane north eastwards to its junction with the A414 Fifth Avenue roundabout, a distance of approximately 800m.

b) that length of Eastwick Road, Eastwick from its junction with the A414 Fifth Avenue roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Burnt Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 436m.

c) that length of A414 Fifth Avenue, Harlow from its junction with the A414 Eastwick Road roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 109m.

ADDITIONALLY the existing 7.5 tonnes weight restriction on that length of Eastwick Road, Eastwick/Pye Corner, Gilston from its junction with the A414 Fifth Avenue roundabout north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Gilston Lane, a distance of approximately 973m, will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to use this length of roads, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 25 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

2. that length of B156 Goffs Lane, Goffs Oak from its junction with St Johns Road north westwards to its junction with Doverfield, a distance of approximately 205m.

An alternative route will be via B156 (Goffs Lane/Churchgate Road/Flamstead End Road/ Brookfield Lane West/Halfhide Lane), A1170 Great Cambridge Road, A10 (Turnford Link Road/unnamed road), A414 (Rush Green Link/London Road/Gascoyne Way), B158 (Hale Road/Pegs Lane/Bullocks Lane/Horns Mill Road/Lower Hatfield Road/unnamed road/Low Road/Essendon Hill/High Road/Cum Cum Hill/Kentish Lane), A1000 Great North Road, B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway/East Ridgeway/Plough Hill) and B156 (Station Road/ Cuffley Hill/Goffs Lane).

An alternative route will be via Stanstead Road, Hoddesdon Road, B181 Station Road, A1170 Ware Road, Duke Street and Stanstead Road or via Stanstead Street, Burford Street, A1170 (Dinant Link Road/Amwell Street/Ware Road), B181 Station Road, Hoddesdon Road and Stanstead Road.

4. that length of Middlefield Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with Stanstead Road south westwards to its junction with Fairfield Road, a distance of approximately 198m.

An alternative route will be via Stanstead Road, Hoddesdon Road, B181 Station Road, A1170 Ware Road and Middlefield Road.

5. that length of Rye Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with Stanstead Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 21m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

6. that length of B1197 Hertford Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with Westhill Road south eastwards to its junction with Westfield Road, a distance of approximately 293m.

An alternative route will be via B1197 (Hertford Road/London Road), A414 Rush Green Link Road, B1502 Stanstead Road, A1170 Ware Road and B1197 London Road.

7. that length of Goodwood Close, Hoddesdon from its junction with College Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

8. that length of A1170 High Road, Broxbourne from its junction with The Lawns Drive south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Bushby Avenue, a distance of approximately 458m.

An alternative route will be via A1170 (High Road/High Street/Charlton Way/Dinant Link Road/Hoddesdon Link Road), A10 (unnamed road/Turnford Link Road) and A1170 High Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 25 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
