Temporary Closure of Public Footpaths S2/12 & S2/13, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on the 1 of June 2026 until 17 July 2026.
All pedestrians and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath S2/12, between grid reference SY 69110 91138 to grid reference SY 69072 91016, a distance of approximately 130 metres. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath S2/13 between grid reference SY 69080 91034 to grid reference SY 69546 90779, a distance of approximately 570 metres. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. This Order is required to allow Wessex Water to reline the public sewer.
Access to the allotments only will be available via the bridge at the bottom of Friary Hill.
On this occasion there will be no suitable alternative.
