C69 CHATHILL MAIN ROAD
C69 DOXFORD HALL TO CHATHILL
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use of vehicular traffic on the following section of roads and to hereby bring into force a speed restriction on the following section of roads in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 1st June 2026 until the 1st November 2026.
Road Closure:
C69 Chathill Main Road
C69 Chathill Main Road from outside the front of Pinewood heading in a south westerly direction for a length of 305 metres. It is expected that the road will only be closed on the following dates:
• 1st June 2026 until the 3rd July 2026 between the hours of 08:00 until 17:00
• 13th July 2026 until the 17th July 2026 between the hours of 08:00 until 17:00
C69 Doxford Hall to Chathill
C69 Doxford Hall to Chathill from its point with Chathill Main Road heading in a southerly direction for a length of 1200 metres
• 1st June 2026 until the 3rd July 2026 between the hours of 08:00 until 17:00
• 13th July 2026 until the 17th July 2026 between the hours of 08:00 until 17:00
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the C70, A1, B1341, B1340 and vice versa. Speed Restriction:- (60mph down to 40mph)
A speed restriction will hereby further be in force which will restrict the speed of all vehicular traffic from 60mph down to 40mph and no person shall drive their vehicle in excess of 40 mph on the C69 Chathill Main Road from outside the front of Pinewood heading in a south westerly direction for a length of 305 metres and the C69 Doxford Hall to Chathill from its point with Chathill Main Road heading in a southerly direction for a length of 1200 metres in the County of Northumberland. The speed restriction will be in force between the hours of 17:00 and 08:00 on the 1st June 2026 until the 3rd July 2026 and the 13th July 2026 until the 17th July 2026.
The speed restriction is in place to protect the carriageway whilst the road is reopened overnight and for the safety of residents as there may be some ramped off works.

The road closure and speed restriction have been requested Northumberland County Council to carry out civils and carriageway resurfacing. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order. DATED this 21st day of May 2026.

U114 MIDDLE STREET SPITTAL
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U114 Middle Street from its junction with Blenheim Place heading in a northerly direction for a length of 200 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 1st June 2026 until the 20th July 2026.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 1st June 2026 until the 6th July 2026 however it will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 20th July 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being U114, C426, C425 and vice versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
