Temporary Closure of Unnamed Road, Cheselbourne & Dewlish

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Unnamed Road, Cheselbourne & Dewlish between Pound Lane, Dewlish and Bridleway S15/2 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1500 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1st June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 7th September 2026.

This Order will provide Wessex Water to install a rolling road closure which will be introduced in two phases enabling them to install a new water main.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Closure of Rectory Road, Piddlehinton

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2nd June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16th June 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of the order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Rectory Road, Piddlehinton from junction with B3143 to junction with C12 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 3250 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Rectory Road, Piddlehinton from junction with B3143 to junction with C12 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 3250 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986

[2] To impose a parking suspension and clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along CHURCH HILL LANE, in its entirety.

[3] To impose a temporary road closure on C28, between its junction with Roman Road Dairy Access Road and a point approximately 3415 metres north west.

[4] To impose a parking suspension and clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along C28, between its junction with Roman Road Dairy Access Road and a point approximately 3415 metres north west.

[5] To impose a temporary road closure on GREENFORD LANE, between its junction with C28 and a point approximately 1318 metres north.

[6] To impose a parking suspension and clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along GREENFORD LANE, between its junction with C28 and a point approximately 1318 metres north.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above and the works are weather dependant.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[1] To impose a temporary road closure on ROMAN ROAD, WINTERBOURNE ABBAS between its junction with Muckleford Road and its junction with Roman Road Dairy Access Road, a distance of approximately 3400 metres.

[2] To impose a parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along ROMAN ROAD, WINTERBOURNE ABBAS between its junction with Muckleford Road and its junction with Roman Road Dairy Access Road, a distance of approximately 3400 metres.

[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along ROMAN ROAD, WINTERBOURNE ABBAS between its junction with Muckleford Road and its junction with Roman Road Dairy Access Road, a distance of approximately 3400 metres.

[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along NOTTON ROAD, NOTTON between its junction with A356 and Notton Farm, a distance of approximately 220 metres.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 26 May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 June 2026. Working times will be between the hours of 5am and 5pm, works will not take place at night, over the weekend or on Bank Holidays.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on; Verlands Road/Winslow Road/Hazel Drive/Maple Close/Cedar Drive/Forehill Close/Willow Crescent/Wentworth Close/Castlemaine Road

[2] To impose temporary clearway on; Verlands Road/Winslow Road/Hazel Drive/Maple Close/Cedar Drive/Forehill Close/Willow Crescent/Wentworth Close/Castlemaine Road to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works.

Any vehicle in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been towed the owner will need to contact our towing contractors Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

When the Order comes into operation on 28th May 2026 the effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time restrictions along parts of the A354 Portland Road and Merley Road, Weymouth.

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 18 May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22 May 2026. Works to take place between 0900hrs and 1600hrs.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out resurfacing works.

The effect of this order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closures on; The Green/The Square/Mill Street/Backwater

[2] To impose temporary clearway on; The Green/The Square/Mill Street/Backwater to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works.

Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council’s vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.
