Higher Brooks - Temporary Road Closures Due To Pole Replacement Works
What is happening?
Somerset Council Parish of Street Temporary Closure of Higher Brooks, Slugg Hill, Overleigh, Middle Brooks and Ivythorne Road
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Higher Brooks - from the junction with Somerton Road, westwards for a distance of 157 metres; Slugg Hill - from the junction with Somerton Road to the junction with Overleigh; Overleigh - from the junction with Green Lane to the junction with Slugg Hill, Middle Brooks - from the junction with Slugg Hill to the junction with Aquara Close and Ivythorne Road - from the junction with Green Lane, northwards for a distance of 2 metres. A total distance of 1699 metres. This Order will enable National Grid to carry out phased pole replacement works (as and when signed on site).
The Order becomes effective on 4th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 8th June 2026 and last until 3rd July 2026 between the hours of 08:00 - 19:00 for a total of 26 days.
