What is happening?

Somerset Council Parishes of Norton Fitzwarren and Taunton Temporary Closure of Silk Mills Lane (Northbound Lane only)

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Silk Mills Lane (Northbound Lane only) - from the junction with Great Western Way to the junction with Silk Mills Roundabout. A total distance of 300 metres.

This Order will enable Bouygues UK to carry out survey and remedial works for local housing development.

The Order becomes effective on 21st May 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 26th May 2026 and last until 28th May 2026 between the hours of 18:00-23:00 for a total of 3 evenings.
