THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (BETWEEN KIRBY MUXLOE AND WIDMERPOOL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A46 Trunk Road between Kirby Muxloe and Widmerpool, in the Counties of Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire to enable routine maintenance work to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close, at different times, any layby adjacent to -
(a) the northbound carriageway of the A46 from its junction with the entry slip road leading from Kirby Muxloe Interchange, to the centrepoint of Widmerpool Roundabout; and
(b) the southbound carriageway of the A46 from the centrepoint of Widmerpool Roundabout, to its junction with the exit slip road leading to Kirby Muxloe Interchange.
The closures are expected to start at 13:00 hours on Monday 15 June 2026 and continue for approximately three weeks. The Order will come into force on 8 June 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures.
