Elmbridge - Off-Street Parking Places Order
What is happening?
NOTICE OF PROPOSAL ELMBRIDGE BOROUGH COUNCIL
(OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2026
Elmbridge Borough Council ("the Council"), in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 as amended, and all other enabling powers, makes provision for off-street parking places within its district.
This Notice is published in accordance with the Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996.
The Council proposes to revoke the Elmbridge Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2019 ("the 2019 Order") and replace it with the Elmbridge Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2026.
This Order proposes to:
1. Introduction of 30-minute free parking in the remaining town centre parking places.
2. To reintroduce enforcement of Sunday charges following a period of statutory consultation.
3. To re-introduce variations to chargeable hours in the town centre parking places.
4. To remove references to parking places that do not have parking restrictions during operational hours.
Copies of the draft Order with the relevant Schedules attached, Statement of Reasons and the 2019 Order will be available for inspection at the Council office, at the address given below during normal office hours Monday to Friday.

Any objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, should be made in writing and sent to: Parking Services, Elmbridge Borough Council, Civic Centre, High Street, Esher, Surrey, KT10 9SD or by email to parking@elmbridge.gov.uk by no later than 11 June 2026.
