ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC 149739554 : The City of Manchester (Oxford Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Oxford Street outside Palace Theatre.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Whitworth Street West, Albion Street, Great Bridgewater Street, Chepstow Street.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane for repairs on The Palace Theatre.
It is expected that the works will be in progress between 22:00hrs on 24th May 2026 and 05:00hrs 25th May 2026.
The order shall come into operation on 24th May 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.
If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
