What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.  
ROADS TO BE CLOSED: Salisbury Road between its junction with Balkesbury Hill and its junction with A343.   Balkesbury Hill between its junction with Foundry Road and its junction with Salisbury Road.    
TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION- To impose a 30-mph temporary speed restriction on the following roads:   Salisbury Road between its junction with Balkesbury Hill and its junction with A343.   Balkesbury Hill between its junction with Foundry Road and its junction with Salisbury Road.  
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Salisbury Road, A343, Foundry Road, Balkesbury Hill.  
DURATION OF ORDER: from Monday 8th June 2026 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner.  (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 6 months and this order will be in operation 24 hours a day and works to be completed in phases).   The Temporary Road Closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Brownes to complete rising main installation.
