(VARIOUS ROADS, GALASHIELS) (TEMPORARY NO WAITING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (Various Roads, Galashiels) (Temporary No Waiting) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 18:00 on  29 May 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 22:00 on 30 May 2026. The Order is required in the interests of road/public safety due to increased traffic attending Vibes in the Borders, Charity Music Festival Event.

When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of road/public safety, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on both sides of the following roads in Galashiels: (i)  Croft Street – from Douglas Place to Public Park;

(ii)   Abbotsford Road – from Douglas Place to Number 31;

(iii)  Tweed Road – from Abbotsford Road to Eastlands Road;

(iv)  Eastlands Road – from Tweed Road to its termination; and (v)  Tweed Crescent – from Tweed Road southwards for 20 metres.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

(RIVERSIDE ROAD, SELKIRK) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (Riverside Road, Selkirk) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on  25 May 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on  28 May 2026. The Order is required for Trial Pits to Locate Services with Carriageway.

When the Order comes into effect no person drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Riverside Road, Selkirk (at junction with South Bridge Street).

The alternative route for south westbound traffic is via Riverside

Road, Level Crossing Road, Dunsdale Road, Whinfield Road, South Bridge Street and Riverside Road to the point of closure, for northeast bound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(ABBOTSFORD TERRACE, GALASHIELS) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (Abbotsford Terrace, Galashiels) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 19:00 on 28 May 2026 and is expected to remain in effect overnight until 08:00 on 29 May 2026. The Order is required for Scottish Water works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Abbotsford Terrace, Galashiels from the A7 Abbotsford Road to James Scott Court.

The alternative route for south westbound traffic is via Abbotsford Road, Paterson Street, Oatlands Terrace and Abbotsford Terrace to the point of closure, for north eastbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(B6401 MOREBATTLE) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (B6401 Morebattle) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 25 May 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 1 June 2026 between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 each day, as detailed below. The Order is required for patching works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B6401 at Morebattle as follows:

(a)   from Crookedshaws to the B6436 Morebattle Tofts junction on 25 May to 28 May 2026. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B6401, B6436, B6352 and B6401 to point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

(b)   the B6436 Morebattle Tofts junction to Morebattle 20mph signs on 29 May 2026 to 1 June 2026. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B6401, A698, B6352, B6436 and B6401 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(C46 STICHILL TO EDNAM) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (C46 Stichill to Ednam) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:30 on 25 May 2026 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of two days between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 each day. The Order is required for patching works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the C46 from Stichill to Ednam.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the B6461, A6089, B6364 and C46 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
