Barking & Dagenham - Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Gas Mains Replacement Works

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER - (VALENTINES WAY, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 - NOTICE OF INTENT
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 22 June 2026. The works expected for:
- Gas mains replacement works to take 15 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 6 July 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
Phase 1
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Great Cullings, northbound carriageway, from its junction with Valentines Way for a distance of 10.3 metres in a northerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Valentines Way, north and westbound carriageway, from a point 12 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 107 and 109 Valentines Way to its junction with Eastbrook Drive.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Eastbrook Drive from its junction with Valentines Way to the extended common boundary of Nos. 160 and 162 Eastbrook Drive.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Valentines Way, both sides, from a point 1 metre east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 107 and 109 Valentines Way for 11 metres in an easterly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicles from turning right from Great Cullings into Valentines Way.
Phase 2
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Great Cullings, southbound carriageway, from its junction with Valentines Way for a distance of 15.3 metres in a northerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Valentines Way, east and southbound carriageway, from a point 12 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 107 and 109 Valentines Way to its junction with Eastbrook Drive.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Eastbrook Drive from its junction with Valentines Way to the extended common boundary of Nos. 160 and 162 Eastbrook Drive.
- Suspend the Unrestricted Bay on Great Cullings, west side, adjacent to No. 109 Great Cullings.
- Prohibit waiting and loading on Valentines Way, both sides, between a point in line with the extended common boundary of Nos. 93 and 95 Valentines Way to its junction with Eastbrook Drive.
- Prohibit waiting and loading on Eastbrook Drive from its junction with Valentines Way to the extended common boundary of Nos. 144 and 146 Eastbrook Drive.
- Prohibit waiting and loading on Great Cullings, both sides, from its junction with Valentines Way for 20 metres in a northerly direction.
4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
During Phase 1 via: Great Cullings, Valentines Way, Eastbrook Drive and Vice Versa.
During Phase 2 via: Great Cullings northbound carriageway and Valentines Way north and westbound carriageway.
5. When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled by:
- During Phase 1, 2-way traffic light signals on Eastbrook Drive, outside No. 111 Eastbrook Drive, and on Great Cullings, at a point 20 metres north of its junction with Valentines Way.
- During Phase 2, 3-way traffic light signals on Eastbrook Drive, outside No. 109 Eastbrook Drive, Valentines Way, outside No. 107 Valentines Way, and on Great Cullings, at a point 20 metres north of its junction with Valentines Way.
