TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
KEELEY LANE, WOOTTON 26 – 030
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Keeley Lane, Wootton outside 60 a.
This temporary road closure is required to relay supply pipe from boundary box and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 1st June 2026 to 3rd June 2026
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Keeley Lane, Hall End Road, Wood End Road, Wood End Lane, Wootton Road, Bedford Road.
The reverse route applies.

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2020
On 19 March 2026 Bedford Borough Council confirmed as an unopposed order the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert:-
i. That length of Public Footpath number 39 Renhold commencing from a point where it has a junction with the western margin of the Bedford Borough highway Ravensden Road, Renhold approximately 53 metres east-south-east of “Wentworth House”, Ravensden Road, Renhold at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0789/5285 then running in a generally west-south-westerly, north-north-westerly and westsouth-westerly direction for 236 metres to a point where it has a junction with that part of Public Footpath number 39 Renhold to be retained approximately 26 metres west-north-west of number 11, Home Close, Renhold at OSGR TL 0768/5280 to a line commencing from a point where it has a junction with the western margin of the Bedford Borough highway Ravensden Road, Renhold approximately 60 metres north-east of “Wentworth House”, Ravensden Road, Renhold at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0787/5292 then running in a generally westsouth-westerly direction for 218 metres to a point where it has a
junction with that part of Public Footpath number 39 Renhold to be retained approximately 26 metres west-north-west of number 11, Home Close, Renhold at OSGR TL 0768/5280. A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford by appointment from 10am to 4pm on Weekdays (Bank and Public Holidays excepted). The Order comes into force on 02 April 2026, but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 21 May 2026 make an application to the High Court.
