Notice of Confirmation of a Public Path Order

The Cornwall Council (Public Footpath No.15 (Part)Tintagel) (Trebarwith Strand) Public Path Extinguishment Order 2026

On 7 May 2026, Cornwall Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish a length of Public Footpath Number 15 in Tintagel commencing at its junction with a part of Public Footpath 15 Tintagel to be retained 72 metres west of ‘The Port William’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SX 04812/86356 then continuing in a west-south-westerly then south-westerly then southernly then south-south-westerly direction for 214 metres to where it terminates having no connection to any other recorded highway 240 metres south-west of ‘The Port William’ at OSGR SX 04702/86207.

A copy of the order and order map may be downloaded from Cornwall Council’s website at https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment/countryside/public-path-orders/ confirmed-public-path-orders/ and have also been placed and may be seen free of charge at Camelford Library and Information Service, Town Hall, Market Place, Camelford, PL32 9PD, open on Monday and Tuesday 10am to 4:30 pm, Wednesday 2:30pm to 8:30pm, Thursday and Saturday 10am to 1pm. Alternatively copies of the order and order map may be obtained free of charge from proworders@cornwall.gov.uk.

The order came into force on the date on which the order was confirmed, but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from the date of this Notice, make application to the High Court.
