What is happening?

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM
Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Crossness Road, Barking) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 - Notice Of Intent

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate The London Festival of Architecture, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come into effect on Friday 12 June 2026.
The works expected for:
- The London Festival of Architecture, to take 3 days to complete.
Completion date estimated as Sunday 14 June 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7:00pm on Friday 12 June 2026 and 5:00pm on Sunday 14 June 2026.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Crossness Road, both sides, from its junction with Thames Road for 90 metres in a southerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Thames Road, both sides, from its junction with Crossness Road for 60 metres in a westerly direction.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via Thames Road, Renwick Road, River Road and Vice versa.
- Via Crossness Road, Galleons Drive, Marine Drive, Thames Road and Vice versa.
