(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF LOADING) (REVOCATION) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 12 May 2026 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 which will come into operation on 1 June 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Waiting at any Time at Knowle Road (North West side): From its intersection with the north-eastern kerb line of Longhurst Lane, in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 50.5 metres.
Knowle Road (South East side): From its intersection with the north-eastern kerb line of Longhurst Lane, in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 52 metres.
Longhurst Lane (North East side): From a point 11 metres north-west of its intersection with the north-western kerb line of Knowle Road, in a south-easterly direction to a point 21 metres south-east of its intersection with the south-eastern kerb line of Knowle Road. No Waiting Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm at Longhurst Lane (South West side): From a point 8 metres south-east of its intersection with the south-eastern kerb line of Knowle Road, in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 24 metres. No Loading Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm at Knowle Road, (South East side): From a point 10 metres north-east of its intersection with the north-eastern kerb line of Longhurst Lane, in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 42 metres.
Longhurst LaneLonghurst Lane (North East side): From a point 10 metres south-east of its intersection with the south-eastern kerb line of Knowle Road, in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 11 metres .
Longhurst Lane (South West side): From a point 8 metres south-east of its intersection with the south-eastern kerb line of Knowle Road, in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 24 metres. No Loading at Any Time at Knowle Road (North West side): From its intersection with the north-eastern kerb line of Longhurst Lane, in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 50.5 metres.
Knowle Road, (South East side): From its intersection with the north-eastern kerb line of Longhurst Lane, in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
Longhurst Lane (North East side): From a point 11 metres north-west of its intersection with the north-western kerb line of Knowle Road, in a south-easterly direction to a point 10 metres south-east of its intersection with the south-eastern kerb line of Knowle Road.
The following will be revoked from The Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2010 (School Keep Clear) (Amendment) Order 2019: Knowle Road, (Both sides): From its intersection with the north-eastern kerb line of Longhurst Lane, in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 10 metres, and Longhurst Lane, (North East side): from a point 10 metres west of its intersection with the north-western kerb line of Knowle Road, in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 28 metres.
A copy of the Order and map may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
