Near Stratford-upon-avon - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic to Allow Roundabout Improvement Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) and (7) THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, WARWICKSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A46 Trunk Road, in the County of Warwickshire, to allow roundabout improvement works to be carried out.

The effect of the order will be to –

(a) close the footway adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the A46 from opposite its junction with Drayton Manor Drive for a distance of 735 metres in an easterly direction; and

(b) close parts of the circulatory carriageway of the roundabout junction of the A46 and the A422 Alcester Road (the A46/A422 roundabout).

The part closures of the roundabout will prohibit -

(a) traffic travelling north on the A46 from accessing the A422, traffic will be directed to continue on the A46 until Bishopton Roundabout where they can return on the southbound A46 to the A46/A422 roundabout and access the A422; and

(b) traffic from the A422 from accessing the northbound A46, traffic will be directed to continue on the A46 southbound until the new roundabout at Drayton Manor Drive, where they can access the A46 northbound.

The closures will be in operation twenty-four hours a day for the duration of the works and are expected to start at 00:01 hours on Wednesday 3 June 2026 and continue for approximately 10 weeks. The Order will come into force on 27 May 2026.

Vehicles being used in connection with the work will be exempt from the closure.
