Longbridge Road - Temporary Traffic Management Order & Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic Due To Utility Works

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM
Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Longbridge Road, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 - Notice Of Intent

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate utility works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Tuesday 7 July 2026. The works expected for:
- Utility works to take 2 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Wednesday 8 July 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 10:00pm on Tuesday 7 July 2026 to 5:00am on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Lodge Avenue, northbound carriageway straight ahead and right turning lane, from a point 5.3 metres south of its junction with Longbridge Road for a distance of 41.5 metres in a southerly direction.

- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Becontree Avenue, southbound carriageway straight ahead and right turning lanes, from its junction with Longbridge Road for a distance of 51.5 metres in a northerly direction.

- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Longbridge Road, westbound carriageway straight ahead and right turning lane, from the extended common boundary of Nos. 594 and 596 Longbridge Road to Nos. 616 and 618 Longbridge Road.

- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Longbridge Road, eastbound carriageway right turning lane, from the extended common boundary of Nos. 803 and 805 Longbridge Road to a point 6 metres west of the extended common boundary of Nos. 598 and 600 Longbridge Road.

- Prohibit all vehicles from turning right from Lodge Avenue into Longbridge Road.

- Prohibit all vehicles from turning right from Longbridge Road into Becontree Avenue.

- Prohibit all vehicles from turning right from Longbridge Road into Lodge Avenue.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

- Via Becontree Avenue, Longbridge Road (A124), Wood Lane (A124), Porters Avenue (A1153) and Lodge Avenue.

- Via Lodge Avenue, Longbridge Road westbound (A124), The Catch Roundabout, Longbridge Road eastbound (A124) and Becontree Avenue.
