The reason for the closures and restrictions is for infrastructure maintenance works in the carriageway and verge.
There will be no stopping or waiting and no loading permitted throughout the duration of the said works.
The said road, bridleway and footpath are expected to be closed and restricted, during various times, on a rolling programme commencing 26th May 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closures and restrictions are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures and restrictions taking effect. This Order can permit the closure and restriction of the road in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated all works will be completed by 29th May 2026.

PUBLIC FOOTPATH CONNECTING SLAD ROAD AND PUBLIC FOOTPATH ZST46, LIBBY’S DRIVE, STROUD PARISH - CREATION ORDER 2026
On 30 April 2026, the Gloucestershire County Council confirmed the above-named Order. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding to them the following length of public footpath:
A length of public footpath connecting Slad Road and Public Footpath ZST46 in the parish of Stroud in the County of Gloucestershire that commences at its junction with county highway number B4070 known as Slad Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SO8577/0564 and extends in a generally easterly direction for approximately 155 metres, then in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 245 metres to OSGR SO8604/0544 at its junction with Public Footpath ZST46.
Please note that any existing private vehicular access rights are unaffected.

The Order comes into force on the 30 April 2026 but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provisions contained in it, within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (HA1980), as amended, and/or the powers of section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (WCA1981) or on the ground that any requirement of either Act or of any regulation made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to HA1980 as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act and as applied by s53A(7) WCA1981, within 6 weeks from 20 May 2026 make an application to the High Court.
