Oxfordshire - Multiple Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DIDCOT AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all enabling powers. The effect of the Order – in response to the development of adjacent land for residential purposes – is to extend the existing 30mph Speed Limit on the A4130 Hadden Hill (Didcot to Wallingford road) in Didcot, eastwards for an approximate 130 metres, replacing that length of existing 40mph speed limit in the process.
Additionally, various traffic/highway improvement works are also proposed comprising the following measures:
1. A4130 Hadden Hill:
a. Two new Toucan Crossings (a signal-controlled crossing for use by pedestrians and cyclists) to be located approx. 120 metres west, and 70 metres east of the roundabout junction with the access to the ‘Hadden Hill’ retail park.
b. Four new bus stop Clearways ‘No stopping except local buses’ to be located on either side of the carriageway, approx. 90 metres east, and 90 & 150 metres west of the roundabout junction with the access to the ‘Hadden Hill’ retail park.
c. New sections of Segregated foot/cycleway (5 metres wide) on the North side, adjacent to the carriageway serving the new development and the proposed crossings & bus stop facilities (which will include cycle parking).
d. New section of Shared foot/cycleway (3 metres wide) on the south side, between the access to the ‘Hadden Hill’ retail park and the proposed crossing & bus stop facilities (which will include cycle parking).
2. A4130 Abingdon Road:
a. Two new Toucan Crossings – to be located approx. 45 metres north, and 80 metres south of the junction with Tamar Way, serving the existing off-road foot & cycle provisions.
b. Two new bus stop Clearways ‘No stopping except local buses’ to be located on either side of the carriageway, approx. 55 & 105 metres south of the junction with Tamar Way.
c. New section of Segregated foot/cycleway (5 metres wide) on the East side, adjacent to the carriageway between the two proposed crossings.
d. New section of Shared foot/cycleway (3 metres wide) on the west side, south of Tamar Way, between the existing off-road foot & cycle provision & the proposed new bus stop facilities (which will include cycle parking).
The Oxfordshire County Council (Didcot Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2025 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the end of 19 June 2026. (VARIOUS ROADS – VALE OF WHITE HORSE DISTRICT) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION No.*) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all enabling powers. The effect of the Order – in response to the development of adjacent land – is to extend the existing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ parking restriction (double yellow lines) on both sides of the A338 Manor Road in Wantage, from south of its junction with Broadwater Place, southwards to its northern junction with the service road accessing Nos.1-17.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads – the Vale of White Horse District) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026 will be further amended, updating Map Tiles: ‘HC43’ & ‘HC43’.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
East Hagbourne, Main Road and the B4016
Prohibition of Vehicles
Date of Order: 8 June 2026
Coming into force: 18 June 2026
This Order is being introduced because of carriageway resurfacing and reinstatement works which are anticipated to complete by 24 June 2026. The closure will operate between the hours of 8pm and 6am on weekdays only.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in that part of Main Road between the junctions of Kingsholme Close and Blewbury Road, and that part of the B4016 between the junctions of Bishops Orchard and Hagbourne Road west from Bessel’s Way.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

This Order is being introduced because of essential electrical maintenance works on behalf of SSEN and the estimated duration of this closure is 3 months. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part of Letcombe Walk from outside Nos. 2 to 13. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the Works. The diversion route is via along Lime Tree footpaths and footway and then Marygreen.
Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The order will remain in force for 6 months or until the works are complete whichever is the sooner.

The effect of the Order is to close temporarily footpath to the west side of 10 Lime Tree Close. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the Works. The diversion route is via Letcombe Walk and Marygreen.
Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The order will remain in force for 6 months or until the works are complete whichever is the sooner.

This Order is being introduced because of essential gas main replacement work which is anticipated to take 7 days to be completed. The effect of the Order, by narrowing the roads is to temporarily direct vehicles via One Way in Orchard Way southwards from Ormond Road to Trinder Road and going eastwards.

There is no diversion for this closure as the closure is on a dead end, but the access will be maintained for local residents.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
