What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
MIDDLE STREET, LAYTHAM

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on
foot/whether on foot or pedal cycle on Middle Street,
Laytham between 08.00 hours until 18.00 hours
outside of Moat Farm Cottage commencing 18 May
2026 to allow works to install approximately 20 metres
of telecoms cable to link into the existing telecoms
apparatus on Middle Street, Laytham.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
Middle Street, Laytham works to be carried out and
completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will
be completed within three days. There is no alternative
route. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for
vehicular access to properties directly affected by the
closure and for emergency services. The Order will
commence 18 May 2026 and continue in force for
a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the
works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
