Wickham, Winchester - Temporary Road Restrictions due to Wickham Horse Fair

TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS – VARIOUS ROADS, WINCHESTER, WICKHAM HORSE FAIR 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an order under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 to allow the Wickham Horse Fair to take place out on or near the road.

ROADS TO BE CLOSED: those parts of the following roads:

1) A334, Wickham, Winchester between its junction with Blind Lane/Titchfield Lane and its junction with A32/ School Road.

2) The Square, Wickham, Winchester between its junction with A334 and its junction with Bridge Street.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:

• Northbound: A32/School Road, Corhampton Roundabout, B3035.

• Southbound: Winchester Road Junction A334, A334/ Kitnocks Hill, A3051, A27

NO RIGHT TURN: those parts of the following roads:

1) A32/School Road (Southbound), Wickham, Winchester: no right turn into Bridge Street.

2) Bridge Street (Eastbound), Wickham, Winchester: no right turn into A32/School Road.

LEFT TURN ONLY: those parts of the following roads:

1) B2177/ Southwick Road (Westbound), Wickham, Winchester: Left turn only onto A32/ School Road.

ONE-WAY: To impose a one-way road on the following road:

1) Station Road, Wickham, Winchester: the one-way restriction will make Station Road Northbound only.

2) Mill Lane, Wickham, Winchester: Mill Lane (Southbound Only) one-way from Station Road and Bridge Street.

3) Bridge Street, Wickham, Winchester: Bridge Street (Northwest bound Only) one-way from Mill Lane and Station Road.

NO WAITING and NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME: No waiting or loading/unloading on the following roads for the duration of this order: Winchester, Wickham:

• Blind Lane – both sides

• Mill Lane – both sides

• Buddens Lane – both sides

• Bridge Street – both sides

• Station Road – both sides

• School Road (East Side)

• Southwick Road (North Side), from its junction with A32 and continuing to a point 500 metres eastwards.

• Southwick Road (South Side), from its junction with A32 and continuing to a point 1000 metres eastwards.

• Mayles Lane, both sides from its junction with A334/Fareham Road and continuing to a point 600 metres south-west.

• Houghton Way, both sides from its junction with Mill Lane and continuing to a point 30 metres westwards.

HEAVY COMMERCIAL VEHICLE RESTRICTION SUSPENSION – to suspend an environmental 7.5T weight restriction

• The Hampshire (Various Roads, Winchester) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) (Consolidation) Order 1989 is suspended insofar as it relates to Titchfield Lane between its junction with the A334 and Funtley Road, Wickham.

DURATION OF ORDER: from Tuesday 19th May 2026 between the hours 12:00 – 10:00 for 3 days or until the event has ended, whichever is sooner.

Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the event is being carried out.

The Road Closures have been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate the event of the Wickham Horse Fair 2026.
