St Marys Street, Monmouth - Temporary restrictions for Gas main and Highway repair maintenance

HYSBYSIR DRWY HYN bod CYNGOR SIR FYNWY, Neuadd y Sir, y Rhadyr, Brynbuga, NP15 1GA ("y Cyngor") Wedi gwneud Gorchymyn yn unol â'r pwerau a roddwyd gan Adran 14(1)(a) o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984:  

1.     Daeth y Gorchymyn i rym ar 26ain Mai 2026 a bydd yn parhau i fod mewn grym am gyfnod nad yw'n hwy na 18 mis neu nes bod y gwaith y cynigir ei wneud wedi'i gwblhau, pa un bynnag yw'r cynharaf. Rhagwelir y bydd y gwaith yn cael ei gwblhau rhwng 26 Mai 2026 a’r 29ain Mai 2026.   

2.     Roedd y Gorchymyn yn angenrheidiol i wneud gwaith Atgyweirio ar y Brif Bibell Nwy Nwy a Chynnal a Chadw Priffyrdd mewn modd diogel yn y lleoliad.  Cedwir mynediad rhesymol i eiddo sy'n wynebu'r darnau o'r ffordd yr effeithir arnynt yn ystod y cyfnod cau.  

3.     Effaith y Gorchymyn oedd:  

I. Cau rhan o Stryd y Santes Fair, Trefynwy, Sir Fynwy dros dro, ~40m o'r gyffordd â Stryd Almshouse am ~35m

II. Atal y system unffordd ar Stryd y Santes Fair a Stryd Whitecross, Trefynwy dros dro

III.Cyflwyno system ddwyffordd ar Stryd y Santes Fair a Stryd Whitecross, Trefynwy dros dro i ganiatáu mynediad/allanfa.  

4.     Roedd llwybr dargyfeirio ag arwyddion fel a ganlyn:- A466 Stryd Whitecross, A466 Sgwâr Sant Iago, Stryd Sant Iago ac i'r gwrthwyneb.  

5.     Gellir enwi'r Gorchymyn hwn fel Gorchymyn Rheoleiddio Traffig Dros Dro Stryd y Santes Fair, Trefynwy, Sir Fynwy 2026.  

6.     Yn sgil Adran 16(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffordd 1984 bydd person sy'n torri cyfyngiad neu waharddiad a osodir dan Adran 14 y Ddeddf yn euog o drosedd.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE
SECTION 14 - ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984  

MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(ST MARYS STREET, MONMOUTH, MONMOUTHSHIRE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE 2026  

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) Has made an order pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984  

1.     The Order came into operation on the 26th May 2026 and will continue to be in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between the 26th May 2026 and 29th May 2026.    

2.     The order was necessary for Gas Main and Highway Maintenance Repair works to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.  

3.     The effect of the order was:              

I.         To temporarily close a section of St Marys Street, Monmouth, Monmouthshire , ~40m from its junction with Almshouse Street for ~35m            

II.         To temporarily suspend the one-way system on St Mary Street and Whitecross Street, Monmouth           

III.         To temporarily introduce a two-way system on St Mary Street and Whitecross Street, Monmouth to allow access/egress.  

4.     A signed diversionary route was in place as follows:- A466 Whitecross Street, A466 St James Square, St James Street and vice versa.  


5.     This order may be cited as the St Marys Street, Monmouth, Monmouthshire Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026  

6.     By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
