(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES)ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended). The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the lengths of roads set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the roads are closed.

The Order is necessary to enable the Council's Highway Section to carry out resurfacing and maintenance works in the roads.

The Order will come into force on the 19th May 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. SCHEDULE

Baglan Way, Aberavon will be closed from its junction with A4241 Afan Way in a northeasterly direction to its junction with Abbottsmoor for 430m along its length.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Baglan Way, Christchurch Road, Afan Way and Baglan Way.

Baglan Hospital Access Road will be closed from its junction with Baglan Way in a southerly direction for approximately 60m along its length.
There is no alternate route for Vehicular Traffic.

Aberavon Road will be closed from its junction with Baglan Way in a northerly direction for 60m along its length.
The Alternate route will be via the unaffected section of Aberavon Road, Christchurch
Road, Afan Way & Baglan Way.

A48 Commercial Road will be closed from its junction with Library Lane in a easterly direction to its junction with Smyrna Cottages for approximately 200m.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via A48 Talbot Road, Heilbronn Way, Heilbronn Way Roundabout, Harbourside Road, Harbour Way, Margam Road, Groes Roundabout, A48 Margam Road and Commercial Road.

Dyffryn Road will be closed from its junction with Commercial Road in a northerly direction to its junction with Ffrwdwyllt Street for 80m along its length. The alternate route will be vis the unaffected section of Dyffryn Road, Tanygroes Place, Tanygroes Street, Abbey Road, Talbot Road and Commercial Road. The "One Way Traffic" Order on Lane Rear Ffrwydwyllt Street & Library Lane will be revoked for the duration of the closure.

Lane rear of 4 to 56 Commercial Road will be closed from its junction with Commercial Road in a southerly direction for 260m along its length. The "One Way Traffic" Order on Lane rear 4 to 56 Commercial Road Taibach will be revoked for the duration of the closure.

A4241 Harbourside Road will be closed from its junction with A48 Heilbronn Way Roundabout in a southerly direction for approximately 280m (to its junction with LBS Roundabout).
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Harbourside Road, Harbour Way, Afan Way, Water Street and A48 Heilbronn Way Roundabout.

Heol Tabor, Cwmavon will be closed from junction with Heol Tewgoed in an in its entirety. There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.

Heol Y Graig, Cwamvon will be closed from its junction with Heol Tabor in an easterly direction for 120m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Heol Y Graig, Pwll Y Glaw, Salem Road, Heol Jiwbili, Dan Y Coed Hill and Heol Mabon.

Meadow Row, Bryn will be closed from its junction with B4282 Maesteg Road in a northerly direction in its entirety.
There is no alternate route for vehicular traffic

Sandfields Road, Aberavon will be closed from its junction with Alfred Street in an easterly direction to its junction with Marsh Street for 240m.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Alfred Street, Julian Street and Marsh Street.
Similarly, this route will operate in the reverse direction.

Seaway Parade Industrial Estate will be closed from its junction with Central Avenue in a southerly direction in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.

Twyn Yr Ynys, Cwmavon will be closed from its junction with B4286 Salem Road in a northerly direction in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.

Victoria Road, Sandfields will be closed from the junction Ruskin Avenue in a westerly direction for approximately 500m along its length.

Sandown Road will be closed at its junction with Victoria Road in a southerly direction for 35m along its length

Lake Road will be closed from the junction Victoria Road in a southerly direction for 15m along its length.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the remaining unaffected area of Victoria Road, The Princess Margaret Way, Dalton Road, Vivian Park Drive, Hospital Road and the remaining unaffected area of Victoria Road.

Village Gardens, Aberavon will be closed from its junction with Village Road in an easterly direction for its entirety.
There will be no alternative route for vehicular traffic.

B4283 Water Street, Margam will be closed from Cwrt Buchan Lane in a southerly direction to its junction with Heol Fach for approximately 2.5km.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the remaining unaffected the B4283 Water Street, A48 from Margam Roundabout to Pyle Road, A48 Pyle Road, Fairfield, School Terrace, B4283 Porthcawl Road and B4283 Heol Fach.
