Salford City - Limited Waiting Parking Places Order
What is happening?
The Council of the City of Salford proposes to make the CITY OF SALFORD (SALFORD ROYAL HOSPITAL ZONE A) (PERMIT HOLDERS ONLY PAST THIS POINT PARKING PLACES, LIMITED WAITING PARKING PLACES AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following provisions: 1. Permit Holders Only Past This Point' Permit Parking Areas - Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (Zone A) (for the entire length, unless otherwise stated): Arnside Drive; Bindloss Avenue; Bishop Road; Bridlington Avenue; Burdale Drive; Cholmondeley Road (between Lancaster Road and Winchester Road); Clarendon Crescent; Cleveland Avenue; Crawley Avenue; Eccles Old Road (access road - AKA Broom Crescent fronted by nos.119-145(odds)); Emerson Avenue; Fairhope Avenue; Fairleigh Avenue; Gilda Crescent Road; Glendale Road; Graham Road; Guildford Road (between Hayfield Road and Fairhope Avenue); Hayfield Road (between Lancaster Road and Winchester Road); Hopecourt Close; Malvern Grove; Mayfair Avenue; Normanton Avenue; Odessa Avenue; Orama Avenue; Orient Road; Orme Avenue; Ormonde Avenue; Otley Avenue; Otranto Avenue; Oxford Road; Preston Avenue; Preston Close; Selby Drive; Snowdon Road; Tootal Drive, from its junction with Eccles Old Road to a point 25m south east from the southeastern extended kerbline of Normanton Avenue; Victoria Crescent; Victoria Road, between Oxford Road and Orient Road; Wentworth Avenue, from its junction with Tootal Drive to a point 25m south east from the southeastern extended kerbline of Normanton Avenue; Whitby Avenue (Permit Holders will not be exempt from any other existing restrictions and prohibitions that are in effect within the Past this Point Permit Parking Areas). 2. The following existing Limited Waiting Parking Places in effect - Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, Max Stay 2 Hours, No Return within 2 Hours - will be provided with an Exemption from the Maximum Length of Stay restrictions for Zone A permit holders Half Edge Lane, (i) north side, from a point 25.9m south east of the junction with Glendale Road for 90m in a south easterly direction, (ii) north side, from a point 15m east of its junction with Clarendon Crescent for 82m in an easterly direction (iii) north side, from a point 108m east of its junction with Clarendon Crescent for 191m in an easterly direction. The types of Parking Permits (Zone A) available on Application by premises adjoining the roads and lengths of road as specified at 1. (including nos.117 and 147 Eccles Old Road for the purpose of Permit Applications) above are: Resident; Resident Visitor; and Business.
Parking Permits are issued free of charge. Further details are available at https://www.salford.gov.uk/salford-royal-permit Existing Orders will be amended to be consistent with the proposals.
A copy of the proposed Order, copies of the Orders it is proposed to amend, the Statement of Reasons, and a plan showing the proposals can be requested by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or examined in person at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.
