TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2026

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

TAVERHAM AND DRAYTON – A1067 Fakenham Road from its junction with Cypress Close to its junction with Drayton Grove to facilitate carriageway surface dressing works from 16th May to 2nd June 2026 (may continue until 14th July 2026). Alternative route is via: A1067 Fakenham Road, A1270 Broadland Northway, A140 Holt Road/Cromer Road/Boundary Road, A1067 Drayton High Road/Fakenham Road (Horsham St. Faith and Newton St. Faith, Attlebridge, Hellesdon, Horsford, Taverham, Drayton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: Please note the works will be carried out in 2 phases:

Phase 1 is anticipated to be closed between 06:00 on 16th May and 13:00 on 17th May 2026 (Contingency days of between 06:00 on 23rd May and 13:00 on 24th May 2026 and between 06:00 on 30th May and 13:00 on 31st May 2026). Phase 2 is anticipated to be closed between 19:00 on 28th May and 00:00 on 29th May 2026 (Contingency days of between 19:00 on 29th May and 00:00 on 30th May 2026 and between 19:00 on 1st June and 00:00 on 2nd June 2026).

TRUNCH – Brick Kiln Road from its junction with C289 Trunch Road for 45m south-westwards to facilitate gas pipe repair works from 19th to 20th May 2026 (may continue until 1st July 2026). Alternative route is via: C289 Trunch Road/Mundesley Road, C295 Gimingham Road, Brick Kiln Road (Gimingham, Trunch). The works promoter is Cadent.

WESTON LONGVILLE – C172 Morton Lane from its junction with B1535 Weston Hall Road for 600m eastwards to facilitate overhead cabling works between 09:00 and 15:00 on 21st May 2026 (may continue until 2nd July 2026). Alternative route is via B1535 Weston Hall Road, Rectory Road, Honingham Road, Woodforde Close, Church Street, Marl Hill Road, Marl Hill, Morton Lane (Morton on the Hill, Weston Longville). WOOD DALLING – A) C228 Heydon Road from its junction with Crabgate Lane to its junction with Front Road and B) U57014 Prospect Lane from its junction with Heydon Road for 92m northwards to facilitate pole tests between 09:30 and 15:30 on 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026). ALDEBY – U76394 Lily Lane from its junction with U76366 Common Road for 258m westwards to facilitate fibre network installation works from 18th to 20th May 2026 (may continue until 1st July 2026). Alternative route is via: St Marys Road, Common Road. The works promoter is CityFibre Holdings Ltd.

ALPINGTON – U76373 Reeders Lane from its junction with U76372 Burgate Lane for 50m southwards to facilitate stop tap replacement works from 19th to 21st May 2026 (may continue until 2nd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Wheel Road, Nichols Road, Church Meadow Lane, Green Lane, Reeders Lane. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

CHEDGRAVE – U76342 Big Back Lane from its junction with C554 Norwich Road for 782m northwards to facilitate housing development construction works, the road will be temporarily subject to the imposition of a one-way system (northbound) and the effect of this is that vehicles will only be allowed to travel in a northwards direction from 1st June 2026 to 31st May 2030. Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council and this Order is made under s14(1) and s15(2) of the RTRA 1984.

CHEDGRAVE – U76332 Rectory Lane from its junction with C202 Langley Road to its junction with C554 Norwich Road to facilitate housing development construction works, the Road will be temporarily subject to the imposition of a one-way system (westbound) and the effect of this is that vehicles will only be allowed to travel in a westwards direction from 1st June 2026 to 31st May 2030. Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council and this Order is made under s14(1) and s15(2) of the RTRA 1984.

CHEDGRAVE – A) C384 Hardley Road/Lower Hardley Road from its junction with C202 Langley Road to its junction with U76331 Cross Stone Road; B) U76331 Cross Stone Road from its junction with C384 Lower Hardley Road to its junction with C384 Hardley Road to facilitate fibre network installation works from 19th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Langley Road, Saithe Road, Langley Street, Hardley Road. The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

NB: Access to be given to Church Close and Pitts Lane throughout the closure using Gatemen on site to facilitate.

COSTESSEY – U78082 The Croft from its junction with C162 The Street for 188m south-eastwards to facilitate gas leak repairs from 19th to 26th May 2026 (may continue until 7th July 2026). Alternative route is via: The Croft, Folgate Lane, The Street. The works promoter is Cadent.

GREAT ELLINGHAM – U33106 Stalland Common from its junction with C136 Hingham Road to its junction with U33107 Old Runway Lane to facilitate carriageway repairs from 18th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: C136 Hingham Road, B1077 Attleborough Road, U33114 Deopham Road, U33106 Bush Green/Stalland Common and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

HOLME HALE – Lower Road from 290m east of its junction with Cook Road for 50m eastwards to facilitate stop tap replacement works from 18th to 20th May 2026 (may continue until 1st July 2026). Alternative route is via C117 Cook Road/School Road, C116 Bradenham Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

KIRBY BEDON –

A) C202 Kirby Road from 60m west of its junction with U78106 Sallow Lane for 220m eastwards and

B) U78106 Sallow Lane from its junction with C202 Kirby Road for 110m southwards

to facilitate new electrical service connection works from 18th to 24th May 2026 (may continue until 5th July 2026). OLD BUCKENHAM – Hargham Road from 500m east of its junction with Church Road for 140m eastwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 19th May 2026 (may continue until 30th June 2026). Alternative route is via:

OXBOROUGH – Oxborough Restricted Byway 8 from its joining with C44 Swaffham Road for 295m northwards to facilitate installation of a new water main on 20th May 2026 (may continue until 1st July 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

OXBOROUGH –

A) Oxborough Restricted Byway 2 from its junction with Eastmoor Road for 1430m north-eastwards and

B) Oxborough FP1 from its junction with Eastmoor Road for 1170m north-eastwards and

C) Oxborough FP3 from its junction with Eastmoor Road for 565m northwards

to facilitate installation of a new water main from 21st to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

SPOONER ROW – C140 Bunwell Road from its junction with U73094 Slutshole Lane for 150m northwards to facilitate new electrical cabling from 18th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026). SPOONER ROW – U76006 Wattlefield Road from its junction with C594 Silfield Road for 80m south-westwards to facilitate surface dressing preparation works from 18th to 19th May 2026 (may continue until 30th June 2026). Alternative route is via: Silfield Road, Wattlefield Road, Broom Road, Traice Road, New Road, Wymondham Road (Wymondham, Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall, Tacolneston, Spooner Row). WHINBURGH AND WESTFIELD – U35024 Shop Street from 120m west of its junction with B1135 Dereham Road for 40m westwards to facilitate passing bay installations from 18th to 31st May 2026 (may continue until 12th July 2026). Alternative route is via: B1135 Dereham Road, U35024 Church Road/Shop Street and vice versa. The works promoter is MW Surfacing.

WYMONDHAM – U78310 Orchard Way from its junction with U78301 Back Lane for 510m north-eastwards to facilitate footway maintenance from 18th May to 3rd August 2026 (may continue until 3rd February 2027). Alternative route is via: Orchard Way, Rothbury Road, Pople Street, Back Lane. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

BARTON BENDISH – Stoke Ferry Road from 530m west of its junction with Eastmoor Road for 120m westwards to facilitate pipe laying works, the Road will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 18th May to 4th September 2026 (may continue until 17th November 2027). BOUGHTON – Oxborough Road from 795m east of its junction with Chapel Road for 285m eastwards to facilitate pipe laying works from 18th May to 28th August 2026 (may continue until 17th November 2027). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

BURNHAM THORPE –

A) U22174 Creake Road from its junction with U22244 Blacksmith’s Lane to its junction with C96 Rectory Lane and

B) U22245 Garner’s Row from its junction with U22174 Creake Road to its junction with C97 Walsingham Road

to facilitate trench repairs and ducting works from 18th to 29th May 2026 (may continue until 10th July 2026). CRIMPLESHAM – C543 Main Road from its junction with U21293 Market Lane for 100m north-westwards to facilitate underground cabling works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 18th May 2026 (may continue until 29th June 2026). MARHAM – C47 The Street from 10m north of its junction with U21520 Villebois Road for 30m northwards to facilitate a new water connection from 18th to 20th May 2026 (may continue until 1st July 2026). Alternative route is via: The Street, Burnthouse Drove, Squires Hill. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

NORTHWOLD AND WHITTINGTON – C59 High Street from 70m north of its junction with U21341 Hall Lane for 50m north-westwards to facilitate stoptap replacements from 22nd to 28th May 2026 (may continue until 9th July 2026). Alternative route is via: High Street, Little London Road, Little London Lane, Foulden Road, Thetford Road, West End. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

RUNCTON HOLME – U21304 Common Road at its intersection with the level crossing for 20m eastwards and 20m westwards to facilitate track repairs from 20th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Common Road, Silt Road, Bells Drove, Station Road, School Road, Downham Road, Watlington Road (Watlington, Runcton Holme). The works promoter is Network Rail.

STRADSETT AND CRIMPLESHAM – A1122 Downham Road from its junction with U21290 New Road for 2615m eastwards to facilitate surface dressing and lining works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 19th May to 17th June 2026 (may continue until 17th December 2026). Alternative route is via: Lynn Road, Stoke Road, A10 Stow Bardolph Bypass/Downham-Wimbotsham Bypass, Bexwell Road. (Watlington, Stow Bardolph, Stradsett, Downham Market, Wimbotsham, Ryston, Crimplesham, Wormegay, Tottenhill, Shouldham Thorpe, Runcton Holme). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

The anticipated phases are:

Phase 1: stud removal between 19:00 and 05:00 from 19th to 26th May 2026,

Phase 2: Main dressing between 19:00 and 05:00 on 9th June 2026,

Phase 3: Lining and studs between 19:00 and 05:00 from 16th to 17th June 2026.

UPWELL – U21019 Baptist Road from its junction with C766 School Road for 40m eastwards to facilitate fire hydrant repairs from 18th to 22nd May 2026 (may continue until 3rd July 2026). Alternative route is via: Baptist Road, New Bridge Road, School Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT). Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
