What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE COTSWOLD WAY NATIONAL TRAIL (BIRDLIP PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of the Cotswold Way Trail from its junction with Public Footpaths ACO 15 & ACO 12 at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SO 93468/16127 in a generally South Westerly direction for approximately 130 metres to a point 500 metres north of the A417 junction with Public Footpath ABP/1 at (OSGR) SO 93422/16024 and shown on the Order Map by a bold solid black line marked A to B.
The footpath falls within the Parish of Birdlip within the Cotswold District in the county of Gloucestershire.
The closure is necessary to allow the construction on the A417 Missing Link Project.
The Order will come into force 29th May 2026 and it is anticipated that the Public Footpath will close on that day until 29th November 2026. However, this Order authorizes the closure for up to six months and if the closure is still required it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for an extension of time.
Alternative Route: as indicated on the Order Map. Emergency Service access and pedestrian access to adjoining premises will be maintained. For Assistant Director of Legal Services.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C9031 HATHERLEY ROAD (WARDEN HILL WARD) CHELTENHAM BOROUGH
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C9031 Hatherley Road from outside of the property known as No.6 Hatherley Road to its junction with Hatherley Court Roadl for a distance of approximately 300 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for the removal of a dangerous tree.
The said road is expected to be closed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 on 27th May 2026. However, if the said works are not completed on this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
