CONSOLIDATION AND VARIATION SPEED LIMIT ORDERS 2026
The Norfolk County Council has made the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the 11th May 2026 and which will come into effect on the 18th May 2026.
The Norfolk County Council (Bressingham and Fersfield and Roydon, Various Roads)
(30mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026
The effect of this Order will be to:
- consolidate Schedule 1 of The Norfolk County Council (Bressingham and Roydon) (30mph 40mph and 50mph Speed Limits) Order 1996; The Norfolk County Council (Bressingham) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2002; Schedule 1 of the Norfolk County Council (Roydon) (30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limits) Order 2003; The Norfolk County Council (Bressingham, School Road) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2005; The Norfolk County Council (Roydon, Hall Lane) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2012 (“Orders”) whereby the existing 30mph restrictions on the existing lengths of road specified in these Orders will not be changed except as detailed below at 2 and 3:
- vary the existing Orders by removing the references to the following lengths of road:

| U76009 High Road (Bressingham) | From a point 525 metres west of its junction with the C339 westwards to a point 160m west of its junction with the U76014 (School Road) |
| U76009 High Road | From its junction with the C339 westwards for a distance of 240 metres |
| C339 Bressingham Road/Common Road | From a point 170 metres east of its junction with the U76009 westwards and northwards to a point 655 metres north of its junction with the U76009 (High Road). |
| C339 Common Road | From a point 655 metres north of its junction with the U6009 High Road/Fersfield Road northwards to a point 50 metres north of the centreline of its junction with the U76080 Darrow Lane |
- vary the existing Orders by inserting the following lengths of road:

| C339 Common Road/Bressingham Road/Snow Street/Brewers Green/Manor Road | From a point 50m north of its junction with U76080 Darrow Lane southwards, eastwards and southwards to its junction with the C880 Old High Road |

(40mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2026
The effect of this Order will be to:
- consolidate Schedule 2 of The Norfolk County Council (Bressingham and Roydon) (30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limits) Order 1996 and Schedule 2 of The Norfolk County Council (Roydon) (30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limits) Order 2003 whereby the existing 40mph restrictions on the existing lengths of road specified in those Orders will not be changed except as detailed below at points 2 and 3:
- vary the existing Orders by removing the references to the following lengths of road:

| U76009 High Road (Bressingham) | From a point 240 metres west of its junction with the C339 (Bressingham Road) westwards for a distance of 285 metres |
- vary the existing Orders by inserting the following lengths of road:

(50mph Speed Limit) Consolidation Order 2026
The effect of this Order will be to:
- consolidate Schedule 3 of The Norfolk County Council (Roydon) (30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limits) Order 2003 whereby the existing 50mph restrictions on the existing lengths of road specified in this Order will not be changed.
The Orders are to be consolidated for clarity and efficient administration of the restrictions. As part of the consolidation the existing Orders are being updated to reflect current legislation, or being clarified to make them clearer, or being amended to correct minor errors or unnecessary articles and definitions are being removed.
