Various Roads in Godalming (Godalming Run Event)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
On 13 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along those lengths of roads in Godalming specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or any parts thereof. Such restriction shall also apply in relation to the riding, leading or driving of horses or any other animals.
The Order will come into effect on 17 May 2026, for a period of one day, but the prohibitions will only be operative when the relevant signs are displayed.
The Order is required to facilitate the holding of an event on the highway, namely the Godalming Run and will not apply to such vehicles being used in connection with the event, or to anything done on the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police.
Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic.
The Council are satisfied that, in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road to which this Order relates, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, vehicular access to premises situated in such lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted, save for emergency access as indicated above, though it is anticipated that the temporary closures will only take effect during between 09:50am and 1pm.
It will be possible for vehicles emerging from properties in Borough Road north of the Thames Water Depot to turn left and exit the road at its junction with Charterhouse Road. Access for pedestrians will be unaffected. The Council are also satisfied, in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road.
The alternative route for traffic will be via Chalk Road, Bridge Road, Wharf Street, Flambard Way, Station Road and Mill Way, or this route in reverse.

C31 Brook Road, Wormley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 13 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C31 Brook Road, Wormley that extends from its junction with A283 Petworth Road, to its junction with D152 Bannacle Hill Road.
This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach to carry out telegraph pole testing and/or gulley cleaning and/or cabling and/or maintenance works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9:30am and 2pm within 4 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained at all times only under direction of site operatives.
Alternative Route: – Brook Road, A286 Haslemere Road and A283 Petworth Road.
Bond Street (D3120) Englefield Green
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 13 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bond Street (D3120) Englefield Green as extends from its eastern junction with (D3120) Vegal Crescent to its western junction (D3120) Vegal Crescent.
Alternative Route: (A328) St Judes Road, Barley Mow Road, Northcroft Road, and Bond Street, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate gas mains connection works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic, including emergency service vehicles will be required to follow the signed diversion route.
Horseblock Hollow (D192) Cranleigh
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
On 13 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Horseblock Hollow (D192) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with (D192) Windmill Plain to its junction with the access to the property known as “Holly Cottage”; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Horseblock Hollow (D192) Cranleigh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026 insofar as it affects that length of road described in part (a) of this Notice.
Alternative Route: Windmill Plain, Mill Hollow, Pitch Hill, Shere Road, (B2127) The Street, (B2127) Cranleigh Road, (B2127) Bookhurst Road, Barhatch Road, and Horseblock Hollow, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate mains water utility works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 11.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic, including emergency service vehicles will be required to follow the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.
Station Road (C10) Egham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 8 May 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Station Road (C10) Egham as extends from its junction with Rusham Road (D3185) to its junction with Rusham Park Avenue (D3186); and 2. Suspend “The Surrey County Council Station Road (C10) and Manorcrofts Road (C10) Egham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” insofar as it relates to the carriageway described in 1.
Alternative route – Manorcrofts Road, Stroude Road, B3376 (New Wickham Lane), B388 (Vicarage Road), B3407 (High Street and Church Road) and Station Road, or this route in reverse .
This Order is required to enable Network Rail to facilitate signal and telecoms annual maintenance at the level crossing and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 May 2026 for 1 night between the hours of 11.00pm and 5.00am.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Hungry Hill Lane (C38) Ripley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 8 May 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hungry Hill Lane (C38) Ripley as extends from its junction with Gambles Lane (D237) to the access for Hungry Hill Nursery.
Alternative route – Rose Lane, B2215 (High Street and Portsmouth Road), A247 (Clandon Road) and Tithebarns Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable M Group Telecoms to facilitate pole replacement and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 26 May 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Blacksmith Lane (D218) Chilworth
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 8 May 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Blacksmith Lane (D218) Chilworth as extends from its junction with Halfpenny Lane (D218) to the southern boundary of Waterworks Cottage; and 2. suspend “The Surrey County Council Blacksmith Lane (D218) Chilworth Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025”, insofar as it relates to the length of carriageway in 1.
Alternative route – A248 (Dorking Road and Chilworth Road), Guilford Lane and White Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate water works and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 May 2026 for 3 days between the hours of 8.00am and 11.30pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained either side of the works site but not through it. Access for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
On 13 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing/pre-patching and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
On 13 May 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; (b) prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice; (c) revoke Surrey County Council C233 Spelthorne Lane, Ashford and D3223 Clare Road, Stanwell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway slurry works and/or carriageway surfacing/treatment works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Bailes Lane (D57) Normandy.
This Order is required to facilitate water utility works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 June 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Echo Pit Road (D4015) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Echo Pit Road (D4015) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4015) Chantry View Road to its junction with (D4015) Pilgrims Way. Alternative Route: Pilgrims Way, (A281) Shalford Road, and Chantry View Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Morrison Telecom Services Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 June 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Thames Side (D3314) Laleham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Thames Side (D3314) Laleham as extends from its junction with (D3311) Ferry Lane to its junction with (X2174) Access from Thames Side to Abbeyfields Motor Home Park; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Thames Side (D3314) Laleham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” in its entirety .
Alternative Route: Ferry Lane, (B376) Shepperton Road, Littleton Lane, (B375) Chertsey Bridge Road, and Thames Side, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate excavation works within the carriageway for, or on behalf of Fulcrum.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 7 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 June 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of; (a) Lower Eashing (D90) Godalming; (b) The Hollow (D90) Godalming. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 7 days, between the hours of 7am and 7pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 09 June 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site or road plates, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Leapale Road (C93) and Woodbridge Road (C93) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- (a) the entire length of Leapale Road (C93) Guildford (D238); and (b) that length of Woodbridge Road (C93) Guildford eastbound as extends from its junction with Onslow Road (A322) to its junction with Leapale Road (C93).
Alternative route – A322 (Onslow Street), A31 (Farnham Road), A322 (Bridge Street and Onslow Street), A246 (York Road), A3100 (London Road and High Street), A320 (Chertsey Street) and North Street.
This Order is required to enable Walker Construction (UK) Ltd to facilitate S278 works including a new footway and carriageway and associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 1 June 2026 for 1 week between the hours of 7.00pm and 5.00am.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:- (a) impose a northbound one-way on traffic proceeding on A328 St Judes Road, Englefield Green which extends from its junction with Willow Walk to its junction with Barley Mow; (b) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding on the eastern side of the carriageway (southbound lane) of the length of road specified and described in sub-paragraph (a) above.
This Order is required to enable Cadent Gas to facilitate gas main replacement works which is anticipated to be completed within 2 months, between 7am and 5pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 1 June 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and one-way will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
The said restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency; or in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of Surrey Police.
Alternative Route – St Judes Road, Priest Hill, Windsor Road, Egham Bypass, Egham Hill and St Judes Road.
