What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Various Roads in Bookham
(20mph Speed Limit) Order 2026

On 14 May 2026 January Surrey County Council made the above named Order, under section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to impose a 20 miles per hour speed limit in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.

The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

A copy of the made Order, which will come into force on 16 May 2026, together with the plan showing the lengths of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be viewed online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/ roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-andtransport- consultations (follow the link to Church Road, Bookham Speed Limit and Traffic Calming Proposals).

These documents and a copy of the made Order may also be examined free of charge at (a) Bookham Library, Townshott Close, Bookham, Surrey, KT23 4DQ, during normal opening hours; (b) Mole Valley District Council, Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey RH4 1SJ, during normal office hours; and (c) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by appointment only.

(a) that length of Lower Road (D2575) Great Bookham as extends from a point 30 metres west of the centre line of (D2571) The Garstons to a point 23m south-west of the centreline of (D2658) Eastwick Park Avenue

(b) that length of Church Road (D2536) Bookham as extends from its junction with (D2575) Lower Road north-westwards for a distance of 505 metres

(c) the entire length of Fife Way (D2536) Bookham

(d) the entire length of Solecote (D2536) Bookham

(e) the entire length of Mill Close (D2536) Great Bookham

(f) the entire length of High Street (D2536) Bookham

(g) the entire length of Vicarage Close (D2634) Bookham

(h) the entire length of Post House Lane (D2634) Bookham

(i) the entire length of Glebe Close (D265) Bookham

(j) the entire length of Pine Walk (D2884) Bookham
