What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.6) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule. Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 373 3736 or via the Cumberland Council website. The references to quoted are detailed in the schedule.

The Order will come into operation on 20 May 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. C1025 Blackpool Gate – From 20 May 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/18060)

From its junction with the U1035 to its junction with the U1029.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1025, U1029, U1028, C1004 and B6318.

2. U1152 Unthank – From 26 May 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTROC/17974)

From a point approx. 190m south east of its junction with U1154, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 170m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1152, U1153, and U1154.

3. U1210 Castle Carrock – From 27 May 2026 for approx. 8 days (Ref:TTROC/18047)

From its junction with the B6413 Rectory Road, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 2km.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

4. C1038 Near Armathwaite – From 1 June 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTROC/17740)

From its junction with the U1190 extending in a northerly direction for approx. 810m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1038, B6263 Cumwhinton, and C1040 Cotehill.

5. U1196 Near Warwick Bridge – From 1 June 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTROC/17934)

From its junction with the C1024 extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 200m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1196, U1195, and C1024.

6. U1093 Birky Lane, Low Crosby – From 1 June 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/18264)

From a point approx. 100m north east of its junction with Sandy Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 380m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1093 Birky Lane, Walby and the A689.

7. U1198 Fenton Lane, How – From 1 June 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/18311)

From its junction with the C1035, extending in an overall easterly direction for approx. 1.2km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1198, C1024, How Street, and C1035.

8. C1028 Banks – From 2 June 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/18015)

From a point approx. 80m north east of its junction with the C1025, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 600m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1028, B6318, and C1025.

9. C1034 Faugh – From 8 June 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/18348)

From its junction with the C1039, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 950m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1034, C1026, C1027, and C1039.
