NOTICE OF MAKING OF RAIL CROSSING EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 118A
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CHESTNUT GROVE LEVEL CROSSING BURTON JOYCE FOOTPATH NO.6) EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026

The above order was made on 8 th May 2026, under section 118A of the Highway Act 1980. The order will extinguish a section of Burton Joyce Footpath No.6 across the railway at Chestnut Grove, Burton Joyce, Nottinghamshire.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at my Office at the address below between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive, and at the Gedling Borough Council Office, Civic Centre, Arnot Hill Park Nottingham Road, Arnold, Nottingham NG5 6LU and also at Burton Joyce Library 10 Meadow Lane, Burton Joyce, Gedling NG14 5EX during the respective normal opening hours from 8th May 2026 to 7 th June 2026.

The order may also be viewed on the Nottinghamshire County Council website by searching ‘Rights of Way News’, or a copy can be obtained by e-mailing Countryside.Access@nottscc.gov.uk. Copies of the Order and Map may be purchased from my Office at the address below at a cost of £5 per copy.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Countryside Access Team not later than 7 th June 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Nottinghamshire County Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
