ST MICHAELS ROAD, BOURNEMOUTH –

PARKING SUSPENSION

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.

WHAT: No parking – no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time (suspension of disabled bays and parking bays)

WHERE:

St Michaels Road (southern side), opposite the southern boundary of Tollard Court No.139 West Hill Road for a distance of approx.46m

(suspension of parking bays and disabled bays)

St Michaels Road (northern side), parking bays to be used for disabled parking only from the junction with West Hill Road for a distance of approx.32m

To prevent further impact on the cliff there will be traffic measures in place to ensure there is no parking, no waiting at anytime and no loading/unloading at anytime –

• St Michaels Road (northern side), outside the southern boundary of Tollard Court No.139 West Hill Road for a distance of approx.50m

• St Michaels Road (southern side), from the junction with West Cliff Promenade for a distance of approx.70m

• West Hill (eastern side), outside the western boundary of Tollard Court No.139

• West Hill Road for a distance of approx.13m

• West Hill Road (both sides of the carriageway),outside the eastern boundary of Tollard Court No.139 West Hill Road and outside the Highcliff Hotel for a distance of approx.13m

WHY: To facilitate remedial works due to cliff slip by BCP Council

WHEN: Anticipated dates 4th June 2026 until 3rd December 2027

ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained, access to properties will remain depending on site safety.

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months, and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.
