(FOOTPATH NO. 138057 IN THE PARISH OF WETHERAL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to an unstable retaining wall adjacent to the footpath and to enable subsequent repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians along an approx. 50m length of Public Footpath No. 138057 in the Parish of Wetheral, between grid references: 346819 554654 and 346828 554698.

There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.

This follows emergency notices dated 10 April 2026 and 1 May 2026.

The Order will come into operation on 22 May 2026 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for approx. 2 months.
