(TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER NO 1 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (‘the Act’ of 1984), and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to:
1. To enact the following restrictions within this order:
a) To introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ parking restriction in the following lengths of road:
Bellevue Road, Ryde, on the north-east side, from its junctions with Dover Street to a point 66.5 metres south-east thereof.
Bellevue Road, Ryde, on the north-east side, from its junction with Monkton Street to a point 95 metres north-west thereof.
Bellevue Road, Ryde, on the south-west side, from a point 26 metres south-east to a point 55 metres south-east of its junction with Dover Street.
Bellevue Road, Ryde, on the south-west side, from its junction with Monkton Street to a point 21 metres north-west thereof.
Bellevue Road, Ryde, on the north-east side, from a point 30 metres north-west to a point 36.5 metres south-west of its junction with Monkton Street.
Bellevue Road, Ryde, on the north-east side, from a point 54 metres north-west to a point 61 metres south-west of its junction with Monkton Street.
Bellevue Road, Ryde, on the north-east side, from a point 73 metres north-west to a point 88 metres south-west of its junction with Monkton Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the north-west side, from a point 30 metres south-west to a point 38 metres south-west of its junction with Castle Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the north-west side, from a point 70 metres north-east to a point 76 metres north-east of its junction with Cross Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the north-west side, from a point 84.5 metres north-east to a point 90 metres north-east of its junction with Cross Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the north-west side, from a point 119 metres north-east to a point 130 metres north-east of its junction with Cross Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the south-east side, from a point 49.5 metres north-east to a point 64 metres north-east of its junction with Melville Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the south-east side, from a point 93 metres north-east to a point 104.5 metres north-east of its junction with Melville Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the south-east side, from a point 114 metres north-east to a point 119 metres north-east of its junction with Melville Street.
George Street, Ryde, on the south-east side, from a point 81 metres south-west to a point 87 metres south-west of its junctions with Castle Street.
Westfield Park, Ryde – (garage access road) – on the north-side, between both its junctions with Westfield Park (main road).
b. To introduce ‘No waiting / No Loading at Any Time’ parking restriction in the following length of road:
George Street, Ryde, on the south-east side, from a point 26 metres north-east to a point 31 metres north-east of its junction with Melville Street.
The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
A copy of the draft Order, this Notice and the relevant plan may be inspected between normal office hours at the Customer Service Centre, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight during the objection period.
