What is happening?

LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL (KNIGHTON STREET, LEICESTER) (ONE-WAY STREET) (MOVING CONSOLIDATION 2025 AMENDMENT NO.###) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026 (TMP2009)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council ("the Council") proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to makes the following Order: -

The effects of the proposed Order, will be to:

• To introduce one-way moving traffic restriction on part(s) of the following road(s):

- Knighton St from its western extremity to Aylestone Rd

A COPY of the proposed Order, the relevant plans, the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council's website: leicester.gov.uk/ trafficregulationorders, on Traffweb: https://leicester. traffweb.app or during normal opening hours at Leicester City Council, Customer Service Centre, 91 Granby Street, Leicester, LE1 6FB.

OBJECTIONS to the proposed Order should be in writing to TRO Team at the address below or by email to TROteam@leicester.gov.uk. Any objections stating grounds on which they are made and quoting ref. TMP2009- Knighton St & must be received by 8th June 2026.

University Hospitals NHS Trust have amended the arrangements for parking and associated traffic flows within the Royal Infirmary site. A one-way traffic manoeuvre restriction is proposed on Knighton St which now acts as a main exit from the hospital's public car parks. The formal reason for this Traffic Regulation Order proposal is for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
