(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 12th May, 2026, remaining in force until the 13th November, 2026, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over that length of the Public Footpath indicated below:-
That part of Public Footpath FP0211012 Forton, Wyre, from point A (GR 348956 451572) on Wallace Lane (U11772) in a generally south easterly direction to point B (GR 349241 451411) on Lancaster Road (A6), a total distance of approximately 330 metres.
The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in this order shall apply to emergency service vehicles, public rights of way officers of the County Council on foot or to those undertaking any necessary works.
