What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, EAKRING AND RUFFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (N26-166)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Eakring and Rufford in the District of Newark and Sherwood

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road

a. Eakring Road, Rufford - From its junction with Swish Lane for 100 metres in a westerly direction.

b. Stonish Hill, Eakring - From its junction with Swish Lane for 100 metres in a westerly direction.

c. Swish Lane, Eakring - From its junction with Eakring Road and Stonish Hill to its junction with Eakring Road, Bilsthorpe.

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above
road or roads will apply as follows:
From 09:00, Tuesday, 19 May 2026
Until 15:00 Friday, 29 May 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Eakring Road, Rufford , A614 Old Rufford Road, Ollerton Roundabout, A616 Ollerton Road, Forest Road Roundabout, A616 Back Lane, A616 Wellow Road, A616 Newark Road, Eakring Road, Eakring Road, Red Hill Lane, Wellow Road, Bilsthorpe Road and Vice Versa

The Order will come into force on Tuesday, 19 May 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are
