What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Coopers Hill Road (C67), South Nutfield and Prince of Wales Road (C67), Outwood 

(40mph Speed Limit) (Amendment) (Revocation) Order 202-

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-named Order under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to:- (a) impose a 40mph speed limit in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice; 

(b) amend “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Tandridge and Mid Sussex) (Restricted Roads 20 mph 40 mph and 50 mph Speed Limits) Order 2003” so as to omit Part 1 and Part 2 of the Fourth Schedule in their entirety; and 

(c) amend The Surrey County Council ((Various Roads in Tandridge and Mid Sussex) (Restricted Roads 20 mph 40 mph and 50 mph Speed Limits) Order 2003) (Amendment No.8) Order 2017” so as to omit the Third Schedule in its entirety. 

The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. 

A copy of the proposed Order together with the plan showing the length of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-and-transport-consultations.  

These documents and a copy of the proposed Order may also be viewed at (i) Lingfield Community Library, The Guest House, Vicarage Road, Lingfield, Surrey, RH7 6HA, between 2pm and 5pm (Wednesdays and Fridays) and between 10am and 5pm (Thursdays and Saturdays); (ii) Tandridge District Council Offices, 8 Station Road East, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 0BT, Monday to Thursday 8.30am and 5.30pm and Fridays 8.30pm and 4.30pm; and (iii) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm, by appointment only. 

If you wish to object to, or make representations relating to, the proposed Order, you must send the grounds for your objection or representation (including any in support) by (1) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; or (2) in writing to Traffic Regulation Orders Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ by 12 June 2026.

Schedule
1. Coopers Hill Road (C67) South Nutfield – that length which extends from a point 175m south of the southern side of the access road leading to and from Henshaw Farm southwards to the northern kerb-line of D381 Moats Lane

2. Prince of Wales Road (C67) Outwood – that length of which extends from the northern kerb-line of Moats Lane southwards to a point 65m north of the northern kerb-line of C65 Brickfield Road.
