What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON
(VILLIERS ROAD) (ROAD CLOSURE) (023/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council made the above Order on 11th May 2026.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Villiers Road from its junction with Shirley Road to its junction with Heysham Road.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are to complete pipe repairs.
3. The alternative route will be Heysham Road, Foundry Lane, Grove Road and Shirley Road.
4. The Order will come into force on 18th May 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 21st May 2026.
