SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL

THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (WOODMILL LANE) (ROAD CLOSURE) (465/56) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council made the above Order on 11th May 2026.

1. The effect of the Order will be to close Woodmill Lane from its junction with Wessex Lane to its junction with High Road.

2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for carriageway investigations.

3. The alternative route will be Manor Farm Road, Cobden Bridge, St Denys Road, Thomas Lewis Way, Portswood Road, Wide Lane, Mansbridge Road, Stoneham Way and High Road.

4. The Order will come into force on 18th May 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 20th May 2026.
