What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (WEST DENTON WAY) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 11 May 2026 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The effect of which will be to - (a) suspend the existing Bus Lane restrictions on West Denton Way, northbound (nearside lane), from a point 77 metres north‑east of its junction with Fairspring, in a northerly direction for 64 metres.
3. Appropriate traffic management will be in place during the temporary suspension of the bus lane.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 2 June 2026 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 26 June 2026 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
