What is happening?

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tollgate Road, Stanway in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 20m south east of its junction with Tollgate Roundabout for a distance of 100m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 – (18:00-06:00) for 2 nights, or where stated on a valid permit (N5004P104180N0024977/R28 – The Electricity Network Company Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by The Electricity Network Company Limited.

An alternative route is available via Tollgate Road, Tollgate West, Western Approach, London Road, Tollgate Roundabout and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Horsey Road & Hillcrest, Kirby Le Soken)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close that length of Horsey Road, Kirby Le Soken in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Pyesand for a distance of approximately 35m in an easterly direction.

  1. To temporarily close that length of Hillcrest, Kirby Le Soken in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Horsey Road to its end a distance of approximately 175m.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311004WGQH146W & BC311005WGQH146W – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.

An alternative route is available via Horsey Road, Walton Road, Halstead Road, Horsey Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bacons Lane, Chappel)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bacons Lane, Chappel in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Swan Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a southerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th May 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30050139491 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

No diversion route is available (with access only into Bacons Lane).

The Order came into effect on 7th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Tey Road, Aldham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tey Road, Aldham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 95m west of its junction with New Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th May 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03063038140 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National) Limited.

An alternative route is available via Tey Road, Moor Road, Chappel Road, Swan Street, Chappel Hill, The Street, A1124, New Road, Tey Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 7th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
