Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1) and 2(1) to 2(2) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), Parts II and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order:

1. To Implement: Prohibition of Motor Vehicles (Except for Access)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 81, 82(1) & 2(b), 83(2), 84(1)(a) and (2) and Parts IV and III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order

To Implement: a ‘30mph Speed Limit’ (an existing National Speed Limit Road)

‘The Colchester Borough (30mph Speed Limits) Order 1995’ and ‘The Colchester Borough (Speed Limits in Villages) Order 2001’ are hereby revoked insofar as they relate to those lengths of road in the Parish of Abberton. All other roads not mentioned in the new Order shall continue in force. ‘The Essex County Council (Layer Road, Abberton) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2021’ is hereby revoked in its entirety, however, all restrictions shall continue in force by virtue of this new Order.

(Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.70) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1st July 2022 has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The effect of the Order:

  1. To introduce A Restricted Parking Zone (RPZ) No Waiting at Any Time restriction on Park Road, From the boundary of 7a along its length to number 22. Incorporating the entrance to Ruth King Close for 9m.

  2. To Introduce No waiting at any time (double yellow line) restriction at the junction of Park Road Colchester and Park Road, Colchester on the North and South kerbs near to 7a.

  3. To introduce a Restricted Parking Zone (RPZ) No Waiting at Any Time along the length of Turn Pike Close/Ipswich Road, Ardleigh.

  4. To Revoke the current Temporary order within Mascot Square and replace with a permanent order.

  5. To introduce No Waiting on Wednesdays from 7.30am to 11.30am on both sides of Mascot Square from its junction with Elmstead Road to its junction with Capstan Place. On one side of Mascot Square encircling house numbers 23 to 43. On the Southwest side of Capstan Place. Triumph Close on the Northwest side up to number 3. On the southeast and Southwest kerbs at the fork in Triumph Close.

  6. To introduce No Waiting at Any Time at the junction of Mascot Square and Triumph Close.

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing tile numbers TL980 247 revision 0 with revision 1, TM020 297 revision 1 with revision 2, TM025 297 revision 0 with revision 1, TM020 295 revision 1 with revision 2 and TM020 292 revision 2 with revision 3, TM015 242 revision 1 to revision 2, TM020 242 revision 0 to revision 1.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 19th June 2026.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Colchester Zoo 10k Running Race) (Special Events)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 A-C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, has made the above Order to facilitate the Colchester Zoo 10k Running Race.

Effect of the orders:

  1. To temporarily close the following roads in the City of Colchester:

The following roads will be controlled by a stop and go system.

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on 17 May 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 08:00 to 11:00 or where appropriate signs are showing, and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Colchester Zoo 10k Running Race.

The alternative route will be via B1022 Maldon Road, Harborough Hall Road, Lodge Road, Easthorpe Road, Well Lane, Rectory Road, School Road, B1408 London Road, Straight Road, Gosbecks Road, B1026 Layer Road, Birch Road, Pudding Lane, School Hill and Lower Road.

Marshalls on site will permit access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians throughout the event.

The Order will come into effect on 17 May 2026 and may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.

(Church Lane, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Church Lane, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Lexden Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th June 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG8H1D3SSB – Openreach Limited).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while manhole and joint box repairs with associated cabling works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.

An alternative route is available via Church Lane, Heath Road, Straight Road, London Road, Lexden Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Church Lane, Stanway) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Church Lane, Stanway in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 160m south east of its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly then south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30091259264 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Church Lane, Plover Road, Western Approach, B1408, Church Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Clairmont Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Clairmont Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Collingwood Road to its junction with Straight Road a distance of approximately 145m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th June 2026 for 5 nights – (19:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2405524 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching defects works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Straight Road, London Road, Collingwood Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Elm Lane, Feering/Marks Tey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Elm Lane, Feering in the District of Braintree and Marks Tey in the City of Colchester, from its junction with A120 Coggeshall Road to its junction with Little Tey Road a distance of approximately 1650m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2397743 & EP201EH2397743A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Little Tey Road, Wills Green, Hanover Square, The Street, Coggeshall Road, Feering Road, A1024, Colchester Road, A120 Coggeshall Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Frating Abbey Farm Road, Frating) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Frating Abbey Farm Road, Frating in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 265m south east of its junction with Great Bentley Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 for 1 night (00:10-04:40), or where stated on a valid permit (KLR350C-59-75-080626 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while rail corrosion inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

(Lower Park Road, Brightlingsea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Lower Park Road, Brightlingsea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Western Road to its junction with Station Road a distance of approximately 140m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th June 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001504242 – Cadent Gas Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas Limited.

An alternative route is available via B1029 (following one way) and vice versa (with access only into Lower Park Road and Spring Chase).

The Order will come into effect on 21st May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Tollgate Road, Stanway) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
